Since the update is officially 'ready to go', how about a list of issues it is intended to address?

I like Emotiva but man there track record sucks. If I'm not mistaken, big Dan posted a thread back in march that the update was ready to be released and still nothing. Now Keith says today and nothing. If its not ready, then Emotiva should just keep quiet and not say anything till its really ready. There track record is what's keeping them from being a great company. IMO

Will there be a patchlog? It would be really nice to know which of the issues reported in the semi-official bugreport thread have been dealt with.
Thanks!

The other thread says the FW update will be posted Friday, possibly in the afternoon. i got a feeling this will be for real this time.

Why would they say it would be out Thursday if, based on Keith's new message testing was not 100%, the instructions are not complete and the files are not packaged. Wait until all that is finished, then say tomorrow and post it first thing in the morning. Or don't say anything until it is posted.

Tomorrow is tomorrow and today is today and yesterday is yesterday. It is a fluid environment and it will never be tomorrow, it is always today. Maybe that is why Emo uses "tomorrow"?

So what issue is your UMC-200 having that this firmware update will fix? I assume you just got yours?

This is part of the "you get what you pay for" aspect of this company, I think. We're clearly not getting what we pay for with the hardware (we're getting much MORE!) but the equation has to balance out somewhere, and the communication/timeliness/design of software seems to be that somewhere.
I can live with that.

It's a weak point, at best, but hardly a game-changer. If they said they plan no more updates, then that would be a different thing altogether. Having to wait is not unusual, neither is a little frustration. I look forward to auto switch to match processed inputs instead of remaining in DIRECT mode. And a few other tweaks.
Most are identified in the latest reviews by HT and S&V. I understand HT received beta software with some of the corrections. I have not read the entire review yet.

Bootman, I have the same issue that the reviewer from home theater.com had with my oppo 103. I guess you do get what you pay for.

The firmware update for the UMC-200 (v1.52.02.39) is now available at the bottom of the UMC-200 product page on the website ! ;D ;D So far it has been tested with Windows 7 / 32 bit, Windows 7 / 64 bit, and Windows XP, and works fine with all of them. We will be testing it with Windows 8 and Boot Camp on the Mac early next week, and we'll let you know when we've confirmed that it works with them too.
