Will the EDA-2 be bridgeable? We want answers now! Or when ever it's convenient.......
Really looking forward to these.

Hello Everyone,
I'd like to apologize for using caps in the tittle of this thread as well as using the star key. I in no way was intending to offend the owners of this site nor anyone else for that matter. But, since I did use those, I'd like to apologize to the Emotiva Lounge, to Dan, the moderators, and to you the members and visitors of this site. I should have read the rules to start with. After reading those rules, I felt it only right to post this. I apologize. Have a great day.

So now that "early 2016" is official behind us, any idea when the new line will be available? I most interested in the EDA-5 to run my center and surrounds, though if you make an EDA-4 I would be enticed to buy two amps from you.

Will the EDA-2 be bridgeable? We want answers now! Or when ever it's convenient....... Really looking forward to these. In a word, NO. And why would you WANT to? 'd' amps, especially the B+O type are internally balanced designs. At least my ASP module amp was. This means they DO NOT share a ground. 'd' amps are also internally either 'bridge' or 'half bridge' design which I believe ALSO precludes such hijinx as 'bridging'. www.irf.com/product-info/audio/classdtutorial606.pdfLink from the company I USED to work for. They make some nice 'd' modules of which I have one in the garage, awaiting my time to buy the proper transformer and make a PS. NOT a switcher!

I don't know your budget, but i have heard these amps handle, quite well, any speaker thrown at them....http://newclearaudio.com/

For 4500$ you can get a LOT of amp, not just an ICE amp. If you want to 'stick' with ICE amps, the Wyred 4 Sound amp which is similar to the newclear would be about 1/2 the cost.
If your speakers can be biamped, a PAIR of Parasound A21 @250x2 per amp@8 would cost a couple hundred more than the newclear.

Yes.... ICE modules..... Has Emotiva stated that they are using B&O modules? I believe they indeed did say they are using ICE modules, but I cannot recall where that info came from. I also recall someone posting exactly which ones. Mark

Link to the Audioholics article:: ICE power mentioned several times. www.audioholics.com/amplifier-reviews/emotiva-emersa-audio-productsEmersa will be using the ASC module. These have onboard PS which are universal voltage. With the same amp section the AC module does NOT have onboard power. There are opportunities here for either a switcher or conventional. The ASC modules may provide a voltage tap to run OTHER modules without internal PS. That would be cool in a 2-way powered speaker. These are 3rd or 4th generation modules and very good indeed, having worked out some of the 'bugs' from earlier generations. I had an ASP moduled amp of 250/500 @ 8/4 and it was quite the powerhouse. It was rated to something like 2.7ohms, very low indeed. I havent' looked over the rest of the line, but one DID catch my eye. The ICETheater amp seems to be a multi-channel amp on a single board. This would be great for inclusion in a HT receiver.
