At no point does he mention phase and time alignment of the multiple subs.. Is it just an assumption he set it up correctly or is he also fighting the subs against each other.. More info needed..

There is NO down side to multiple subs! Take it easy Nick, if you feel that you need multiple subs then that's perfectly OK. Just be aware that some of us are sufficiently well endowed with one sub that there simply is no need for another. Cheers Gary

I use to have only one sub with my current system, back then I thought two subs were overkill keeping in mind I live in an apartment. Then my one sub went out, I decided to replace it with two, and to be honest to me the sound seems to be much more balanced and my set up actually lets them flank the speakers. I should mention that when I had my home I had dual subs stacked on top of each other set to cover different frequencies they really sounded good.
That just brought to mind the fact that I didn't stack these I might try that in the not to distant future gee. I vote at least try dual subs if properly set up you will be surprised.

But in the south, especially EmoSouth, it's y'all!! Up north it would be you all and farther north sometimes youse guy's!!

After getting my SVS SB13 Ultra dialed in, I think a second one would be terrifying and potentially bad for my windows!

Is it, y'all for less than five people, but all y'all for 5 or more? A local told me that when we were in Tennessee in December. What do I know being from California.

why do people insist that multiple subs is overkill....it has very little (in most situations) to do with more output..
if you get more efficient speakers with gobs of power amps to drive them...does that automatically mean its overkill and too loud? NO!!
why?>
cause you CALIBRATE them to be a certain level.
same with multiple subs. the MAIN advantage is to smooth the frequency response, to eliminate dips (which cannot be EQ's out). and a side effect is the added headroom (not louder cause they will STILL or should be only playing 75db when test tones are played)
so for those saying "I dont need more bass, one is enough for me" either haven't measured their FR, or dont understand why you should actually use multiple subs.

Dual subs here...For me is not about louder it just seems to make the bass more impactful and smoother...
