CAUTION: ALL FACTS IN MY FOLLOWING POSTS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE SINCE MY MEMORY SUCKS.morning y'all…. this is my first opportunity to upload the pictures i took at the emotiva display this weekend. the picture quality is so-so but for those of you wanting to see closeups of both the front and backs of equipment here they are. i got a chance to have extended conversations with big dan, damon, and nick and i will post as i remember them. here are some photos of the BasX gear BasX -100 preamp with mm,mc phono, plus usb, coax, opt, bt and analog inputs price…$299 i think but i don't quite remember. BasX A-300 stereo amp… 150 watts@8 ohms…$399 BasX A-500 power amp 100 watts@8oms $499… dan says it will be complemented with other BasX amps, 7 channels …$599, 8 channel multi-zone, ?? and a 7.1 processor that is the descendant of the most recent umc. updated and better than the last with updated emo-q. the preamp is really nice (easy functionality for the wife) and damon says the dacs used are the same from the ego series. the amps are typical emo quality with toroidal transformer and class a/b amplification. they were not hooked up for any comparison, but i am confident at the price range they are going to be real quick sellers. dan says this is entry level for the x-series for guys who don't have the cash for the xpa-line. great sound for a very low cost. since i have owned upa stuff in the past i agree. MORE TO COME……… tchaik……………

Oh and one thing that I really like about the PT-100 is the rotary volume knob, something the EMP-1 doesn't have I'm guessing due to it's size

When are the basx amps coming out? Release date? And why does the 500 vs 300 have less rated power but cost $100 more? Does the 500 have better parts etc. ? Thanks.

Oh and one thing that I really like about the PT-100 is the rotary volume knob, something the EMP-1 doesn't have I'm guessing due to it's size actually, it was all about the styling of the emersa products. just a couple buttons on the front and a minimalist approach to the remote. they said, they took a fresh look at how many buttons do you really need on the emersa stuff for the style, classy and significant other factor. dan said it like this….."high end sound and performance without the high-end bulls..t" i got a kick out of that one.

Interesting that the EMP-1 advertises 'Dirac Live', any clue if it's the Lite version like the base XMC-1? Great feature, but setup might be more complex than the 'set it and forget it' market this line is targeting.

some thoughts……. the best sound (except for emotivas surround sound setup with xmc-1, gen 3 amps) at the show was virtually any dedicated small room in a stereo mode usually accompanied by equipment at price levels above the value of my house. in the large rooms with suspended ceilings and five other competing setups and legacy speakers on one side and seaton submissive subs on the other side, it was impossible to do any critical listening. go up to the 4th floor and you could hear set-ups without all the other conflicting sounds to do some serious listening. after a while they all tended to sound the same. my complaint: i know what the emo stuff sounds like in a good setup without the sonic competition blaring from every side and that was not what you could get at this show. i heard a lot of other good sounding systems upstairs yet their cost was in the stratosphere. my F150 cost less (36,000) than most of the other systems in each room. i showed big dan this photo of a mark levenson amp. the cost is in the stratosphere. his comment…. and frustration is ….( being in the business i know what these guys pay for parts and i know what they spend in r+d and the retail price is way, way, way out of proportion for the product being made.) i don't remember the price of the levenson but it was mega thousands. i also listened to the wilson audio speakers (name escapes me) that retail for $119,000. the sound was good, but as my wife pointed out that kind of money can get me tickets for the best seats to every show, concert, big name i would ever want to see live for the rest of my adult life. it's a hobby man……………. dan told the story about some reporterette from 'absolute sound' interviewing him as he showed her the xmc-1 and some other gear. he gave her the price $2499 and she writes down $24, 990. and the same x10 mistake with another piece. when he corrects her as to the real price, her comment is that oh, no this equipment is too cheap for our readers and left. Dan's comment….." that's whats wrong with high end audio." I AGREE….. tchaik.

Wonderful. Thanks for all the pics! The EPA-1 looks quite interesting to me! I wonder which ones is the DC-1 in its chassis (XLR outputs). Also what a winner is that DC-1 stack?!?!?!?!? Perfect! At that size I am quite happy with class D. Heck talk about super portable. (And I won't even use the SP-1). Super portable monoblock amps with DC-1 powering it? I think that's their biggest win out of all the electronic products
