Hello, So, I'm finally finishing my system and received my two Rythmik F12 today. But, I am not getting any output from the subs. Following are a few of the things that I've done to try and resolve the problem. - Set two front speakers to small.
- XMC-1 subwoofer set to mono and running through the XLR port.
- I've tried both the Right and Left XLR sub out; no sound.
- I tested the XLR cable with an ohm meter; everything's good.
- I've tried both subs; no sound.
- I tried some different 2.0 stereo options.
Any recommendations with what I can do / try to get some output from the subs is appreciated.
Cheers,
JP

Have you activated the sub output in setting? Sorry missedstep 2, have you tried the test tones?

Yes, you want Stereo Mode (and NOT Direct or Reference Stereo) if you want the sub to be active with a stereo source.

I thought Reference mode was "direct" with no bass management or other alteration. "Direct" allows bass management. If it is in Reference mode then unless there is an actual input to the subwoofer channel there won't be any signal going to the subs.

But then they ought to call what they now term "Reference" mode "Direct" mode instead, and call "Direct" mode "Almost Direct Mode With A Few Non-Direct Things About It" to make it more accurate.

On the XMC-1, in Direct Mode, you get bass management - and no other processing.

In any case...make sure it's not set in reference stereo mode.

So, still no deice! I reset the receiver, set 5.1 and 2.0 settings to stereo. I think, next I'm going to get some RCA cables next. I've contacted both Rythmik Audio and Emotiva and waiting for their reply.

Did you run the test tones? (pink noise)
Are you sure the loudspeaker manager is set correctly? That is small mains, and the correct subwoofer config.
Try hooking something else to the sub outputs just to see if the channel is active. You won't hurt anything if it is at a lower volume level and brief.

Also, are the subs actually "on"??
Sometimes the auto turn on needs a bit of signal to activate the subs...

I tried the test tones and the main front speakers work. But, not sub. I sent a picture of my sub settings to Rythmik and they say it's set up properly. Power's in the on position. Preset 1, Preset 2 and Dirac are all set to, fronts - small and sub - mono.
Tomorrow, I'll bring a small sub home from work and test it out. I also plan on going to a music shop to pick up some XLR to RCA adapters; to identify any potential port issues.

Do what I recommended to you over email. Get a 3.5mm to RCA cable and plug your smartphone in to the subwoofer LINE IN and play some music. If you get sound, then the subwoofers are OK. Then focus your attention into the settings on the XMC-1. Something must be miss configured on the Presets.
