Marc Alexander said he thinks it's ready for release (firmware) now. The monolith rep said they're doing final silkscreen and powdercoat on metal parts before they can kick off assembly. Manual will be posted within the next week or so, per monolith guy. We all know how products turn out when only one beta tester says the product is ready for release.. have we learned nothing in the last 5 years watching here ? I await release and more thorough user testing. Come about February, whichever product is complete and actually works will be what I purchase.

I've been following the RMC-X debacle since the beginning (and with great sadness since the RMC-2 is EXACTLY what I need and want but refuse to buy a half-baked promise) and there is one sure thing to say about Monoprice - they aren't Emotiva.

Technically, they’re not even Monoprice. Monoprice is basically the distribution channel, and they’ve paid for their name to be put on the face of the product, but the reality is the product itself is being developed and produced by people who’ve been there before and have a proven track record. The track record that Emo has proven is not exactly paved with gold, and is littered with potholes and fast food wrappers. There’s a couple big stretches that aren’t even paved.

Well that would be correct as I don’t think Monoprice makes anything.
With their Monolith line, they seemed to be Emotiva’s biggest competitor on the internet direct side. And others like SVS and other internet direct sub companies.
It’s interesting how Monoprice’s amps appear to be the next step up for those with the XPA gen1 and gen2.

Shocked! (Well, not exactly...curious to see what they end up delivering.) Mark Looks like they are targeting pre Xmas. It really doesn’t matter for Monoprice - they are at the mercy of whoever is making this for them. They are just a website with seemingly bad customer service. It’s one reason why I bought the SVS PB16 over the Monolith sub. It’s crazy how things are with e-commerce. First Emotiva undercuts high end brands by a wide margin and becomes a successful company. Now they are feeling the competition from what amounts to be a website that sells stuff made in china and now are in the high end audio market. And imho Monoprice is positioned a notch above Emotiva. I believe in the toroidal transformer amps vs the switching kind so they appear to have a better offering of amps and also subs and speakers. Yet, I can’t trust them except for XLR cables and banana plugs. But because of the Dirac issues I’m keeping an eye on this HTP-1. What the heck is going on? 🙃

Wasn't too promising when Monolithguy put up a picture of the back panels and said "some assembly required" which gives a time line when combined with the " doing final silkscreen and powdercoat on metal parts before they can kick off assembly." line from early December So ostensibly assembly plus quality control to come ..

We'll see what they deliver, and how they handle any issues - if any pop up. Mark They are delivering a 16 channel processor - as stated in the thread topic. I don’t think there is a question of what they are delivering. All the specs are on the Monoprice website.

Thanks for adding absolutely nothing to the discussion. In that case I’m on a par with the Monoprice - thanks 🤦♂️ Glad the double standard of posting on the lounge is alive and well. Isn't the 16 channel processor market built on empty promises ? You'd sure think so the way Emotiva does business..

Well Emotiva delivered three 16 channel processors, and we have talked about its issues for over a year now.
