I looked but I cannot find any info on the status of the XMC-1 extension to get 7.2.4 support for the XMC-1. Is it still happening? Thanks

Thanks Last report from Lonnie was Q1 2019, and we are close to the middle of that time frame currently. The XMC-1 V3 4K video board thread has the relevant posts. Cheers Gary

i have a personal email fron Dan Laufman and he said "We are actively working on the new Atmos enabled DSP module for the XMC-1. Now that the DSP coding for the RMC-1 is complete it allows us to finish work on this upgrade option for the XMC-1.
Please know that we are working very hard to complete this project for you and the many thousands of XMC-1 owners out there.
We'll be announcing formal release dates for this upgrade in the New Year. Please know that it will be sooner than later.
Thanks for your patience and understanding. " Regards,
Dan

If you seen all the problems with the RMC-1 and they need to get a Code out so that unit will functional and Even all the problems with XMC-1 V.3 Board for Hdmi 2.0 board to get stable.
Offcourse they need to resolve this first before releasing a new Atmos board.
Better it works fine then come to early in my mind.

It isn't just Gary. With the last firmware release I'm pretty stable myself. I did start to have a weird switching issue at start up but I narrowed that down to strange CEC behavior from my LD OLED I recently replaced. I turn off CEC there and all is well but there are some CEC features I still want so I programmed my harmony remote to work around the problem. Why post that here when in my case that isn't the XMC's fault? But some folks like to pile on when the piling is good. right now with the issues going on the piling opportunity is ripe around here. Me, if I read an issue that I got to work I'll post that instead.

So for everyone that's trying soften the issues, the XMC-1 is not 100% It needs some work ! So Emotiva needs to chime in with there intention or not to resolve ! Don't ask me to call them , I have ! Don't ask me if I tried different things , I have ! It's either a bad board layout or firmware period !

Why do some people assume that posts here represent a 1:1 relationship to all XMC-1s? (I'm not saying people don't have issues).

Gave up waiting. Selling all my extra amps and will just wait for the upgraded board to work correctly. Only upgrade in my future now is to a 4K projector. 7.2 is good enough for me

(yes !!! equal yelling) I get it you are mad. I personally would have moved on since Sony and CEC issues are usually resolved with finding the right combination of HDMI gear. Just do a search on "CEC issues Sony bravia" and you will see what I mean. As you read in my post (or maybe just ignored) I worked around a CEC issue with a universal remote but that might not work for you. i can't tell since I don't see you involved in any troubleshooting threads just waiting for the next firmware threads. Good luck since your answer may just be another HDMI based processor.

FYI CEC works great and as advertised .ARC works equally as good ! What doesn't is the XMC-1 The work around is toggle inputs. A KNOWN ISSUE ! And the lack of communication from Emotiva is concern of mine . Look 2500 for good bargain for the said product . I want nothing but success for Emotiva ! In my opinion they should keep there customers updated as to what to expect !

When is the last time you came to a forum to post "No problems here, everything's fine!" The nature of a forum like this is to work through problems you're having, whether it's with hardware, firmware, user error, whatever. So of course the numbers in a place like this are going to be heavily skewed. Even that poll, which I created, is going to be heavily skewed, because it was not sent out to every owner of the XMC-1. The intent of that poll was to determine the seriousness of the issues people were having, and their view of the upgrade, not the percentage of people actually having issues.

Um, around here? Pretty much every time someone has a problem, everyone comes out of the woodwork to say that.

I have seen this so many times with HDMI systems where changing one thing causes issues and the final fix turns out to be something seemingly unrelated. HDMI is a chain so troubleshooting begins with resetting all EDID information stored in your gear and starting the chain one link at a time to isolate. This is exactly what we did back in the "old" days of HDMI when I was beta testing for DVDO. So if you want to start a troubleshooting thread I'll be more then happy to jump in and help (as many others here will also) Again. Good luck
