I'm feeling like this Trade-In program has gotten kicked to the side a bit. It would be nice if they could provide a guess target date for the next batch. I know some of us aren't fans of guessing and then missing the target, but I like hearing something instead of "in space no-one can hear you scream" (vacuum, for you folks too young to know). It would be like the FedEx shipment I was expecting last week, that was delayed, then moved up, then delayed but not as much as the original delay. I survived the experience. BTW, I'm ok with it taking longer, just want some idea of timing please. Even if it's just saying that by New Years they can tell us an approximate target date for the next batch. One last thing. If Emo has any concern about taking in too many XMC-1 units, maybe they could add an offer for us certified XMC-1 owners with a straight discount on the XMC-2 ? I might actually prefer to keep my XMC-1. Maybe this would alleviate the Trade-In program resources a bit. I'd be ok with $1299. Agreed. Some transparency on what the program is going to look like in the future and what we can expect would be welcome. I also wouldn't be opposed to keeping my XMC-1 either as I use it for 90% music. I think it’s pretty clear. Based on the 1st 2 rounds the XMC1 upgrade to XMC2 is not their top priority but they will eventually get to everyone. What they should do is to get a deposit from anyone who wants to upgrade. That will give them a much better idea than these random email blasts. Unless they don’t really care what the demands are.

I'll probably keep my XMC-1. It works, mostly, since the last FW update, just very slow switching sources (as usual). The mess of bugs and lack of Dirac Live with the RMC-1/1L/XMC-2 a year after the RMC-1 was released is a downer, and I moved on for my main system, so I'll probably move the XMC-1 to the family room system. The trade-in program has pretty much killed its resale value.

Not regretting trading in my XMC-1. The positives include a brand new unit with Atmos capability and a restart of the 5 year warranty. Maybe I’m naive, but I do think the audio problems will be resolved and Dirac will become available.

^^^^^ I also believe the audio issues will be resolved and Dirac will arrive. When? . . . . Dunno, but I'm certain Emotiva wants it to be ASAP. This is a big hurdle for me with the XMC-2 as my only preamp, but if I were able to keep my XMC-1 I'd feel less apprehensive about experimenting with the XMC-2.
Heck, I'll probably jump in with the next trade-in batch if I actually am able to jump that quick, but that doesn't diminish the thoughts wandering around in my brain - but those could just be the concussion talking.

Only minor problems with the 1L and for the most part it just works albeit with slow switching.

Maybe I’m naive, but I do think the audio problems will be resolved and Dirac will become available. I think the same. Emotiva is all in with this new platform. They release 3 units with that platform and will upgrade hundreds of XMC-1 to that new platform (XMC-2, RMC-1 or RMC-1L). So with all the products and money they invest and customer reputation/respect they have no choice but to bring the project to term and make the unit work without annoying bugs and of course with full Dirac 2.0. The problem is the time frame to go there. They are a small team and seem to move slower than big box company. We are so close and so far at the same time. So close because the next firmware could be THE firmware that will finally resolve the bigger bugs. So far, because the RMC-1 has been release one year ago and how is possible that big bugs still exist? One thing now that we know as a fact is many company announce early this year there new 16ch pre pro and not one was able to deliver. Not one! So it is way way more complicated than anticipated by many company. Not just Emotiva. In the last year Emotiva have not always take good decisions on many fronts but we have to give them credit for there full refund policy available to all new platform pre pro until Dirac is out, excellent customer service and unique XMC-1 upgrade program. They make mistake and learn at lot from this past year. Hope they will do better this coming year. It is very likely thats the new Emotiva platform will be bugs free (the bigger one) and Dirac 2.0 ready within the next 2-3 months. Exactly at the same time as most other company will have there new 16ch platform ready. So in the end they will be no worst nor better on that front compare to other.

The Arcam Av40 processor has been available in Europe for 2/3 weeks for € 3,990. however by the time Emo launches Dirac all other processors will be on the market with DTS: x pro, eArc, Dirac BS, and Auro 3D, wifi, roon, ios / android applications, etc., etc.

The right measure will be to see when and if promised features turn up ; and how much extra they may cost like Arcams sub bass management . A lot of the features you list have negligible value ; important ones like dtsx pro you seem to have insider knowledge of their incorporation soon ? Earlier pre pro from a large firm I bought [Integra] had a promised hdmi module that was never developed 'the dtr 10.5 ;similar thing happened with the cary 11. Its important to buy what is in place imo . I really like a good osd for setup too and don't want a raft of unbalanced rca's on the back panel ike the Arcam ; I could go on ...

I said: by the time Emo is developed Dirac for rmc-1 / 1L & xmc-2 the other brands will have plenty of time to finish, it can't even make a viable firmware after 4 months, Emo it's still in 3 months must still wait 6 months, I come from the xmc-1 I know the promises of Emo. but with the rmc it's really abused

There I will watch the series "the Witcher" on Netflix but I will watch it on my Benq 2700 projector. here is the procedure: turn off the tv, turn off the rmc, disconnect the tv hdmi cable from the rmc, connect the hdmi cable from the Benq , turn on the projector, reconnect and turn on the rmc and finally I can enjoy the series. This is the only solution because with rmc it is either tv or projector but not both. a Yamaha or Denon at $ 250 does better than that! we do not have the right to use CEC it is not advisable to use Arc and it is the fault of my devices and not of rmc according to Emo.

Your welcome to buy on a promise ;who knows when Dirac will turn up for Arcam ; and if you are happy with borked bass management crossovers go for it ..

Anyone else notice the upgrade option for XMC-2 and RMC-X have been removed from the webpage? Sigh.............. Interesting. All three of them were there earlier today. I keep an eye out regularly. 55 days now since they last offered the chance to trade in your XMC-1 for a new model....

Has anyone called to ask about when the next upgrade will be available? I called about 2-3 weeks ago and they did not have a date. However I am glad to slow roll this because I'd rather do the trade in when DIRAC is available. I think they should take a deposit and get people on a list. I don't have the time to scan my email and check the website everyday.

Has anyone called to ask about when the next upgrade will be available? The product has been removed from the product page. It's usually there with the "Unavailable" option but I trust all is well and we will get there.

Based on the info disappearing from emotiva.com, I fear the program is dying.
