Well being that the XMC is considered a 3rd gen product, there must be vast changes made to the platform that differentiates it from the UMC. Is this correct? I thought both the UMC and XMC were gen 2 products with different feature sets.

We had an incredible time with everyone and I hope that those of you that made it had a great day too. Just a quick note to confirm that the XMC-1 WILL be a Gen 3 platform and eligible for upgrade from the UMC-1/LMC-1/DMC-1. etc. We'll provide detailed product advice by the end of next week, along with lots of other news. In the meantime, let's enjoy this beautiful day! Best regards, Dan

Emotiva could call it a 5th generation prepro but it could still be the same platform as the 2nd generation XMC-1 with minor changes . Bill

I read the posts about it being declared gen 3 afterwards. Thanks.

A single 240V/30A circuit would actually work quite well. True.. oh how I miss that.. I had 240V/30A in my home in the UK.... Just plug it into the drier outlet - who needs a drier anyway. Priorities, priorities. ;D

For anyone who hasn't heard the latest podcast, the date is now March 2011. And of course, owners of the UMC-1 will get 40 % off on the new processor.

Is there an updated and current specification/feature list somewhere? I'm thoroughly confused on exactly what it is I'm waiting for now.

I think the XMC-1 will be the most anticipated product from Emotiva for 2011. If done correctly, it will be quite impressive.

It just didn't quite get there. I am looking forward to it. My UMC-1 will take up duties in another room. Dave.

I know Dan said they wouldn't change it again, but I think with the full digital version I think they should have at least 8 (or more) HDMI inputs. As we transition to everything HDMI, most of us will run out of inputs quickly with only 5. Perhaps I'm off base.

The prototype shown at Emofest had them. The podcast mentioning the Digital/Legacy Version of the XMC said that it will have 5 HDMI inputs, but it will also have legacy inputs just like the UMC-1 has. Once they remove the legacy video connectors there will be plenty of room to boost the HDMI connections -- it only makes sense. That should provide all the HDMI that 99+ % of users will ever need. ;D

I must have missed that.
That makes me feel better about the all digital XMC.
Thanks for the heads up RR.

Cable TV(DVR) Satellite TV(DVR) PS3 XBox 360 Blu-Ray Player DVD-Player (See Blu-Ray player) HTPC AppleTV Boxee Google TV My usage: Blu-ray player (Blu-Ray, DVD, CD, Netflix, DLNA, Pandora, Hulu+, BDLive) Wii (No HDMI, Always connected via AB Switch PS2 & XBox on physical A/B switch (No HDMI, My wife's addicted to old PS2 games) Digital Camera (No HDMI, only occasionally) PC (Only occasionally for games.) OTA TV Audio (Optical out from TV) So, I have 2 devices max that use HDMI, and 4 that do not.

Well I'm don't think I'm way above the norm as far as connected devices but here's my list: DirecTv receiver HD-DVD Player WD Live Media Player Don't have any video game consoles connected in my main room but have the potential to hook up my Wii (via hdmi if using an all digital XMC-1). Now if I add a Blu-Ray player (mildly interested in the newly announced Oppo BDP-93) I would have no inputs left. Keep in mind I do own a digital camcorder with HDMI out as well. So more HDMI inputs would be appreciated by many. I say a minimum of six or seven in the rear and one in the front would be good.
