It is direct servo and I got an introductory price through Ascend, unknown how long they will offer it at that price. The Black Oak cabinet was 1099... 1209 out the door with shipping. I am stoked.

Nice - I'm a bit upset that they told me it would be 4 to 6 weeks before they had more subs available, yet it looks like you will have one sooner - but they did find an open-box one which I am buying. I don't really want to pay an extra $200 and will put it towards a 2nd one if I need more SPL, I presume that is all the 600W gives over the 370?
My shipping was $380 ...

Upped SPL with the big amp... to my knowledge that is all. I had spoken with both Brian as well as Dina at Ascend the day before and it did look like it would be the end of March because Brian was waiting on drivers but apparently they got some in. 380 bucks to ship to Ireland is rough but air freight is expensive. I shipped a 45lb box to my brother from central U.S. to California - ground FedEx was 30 bucks but air shipping would have been 270.

You would gain about 2 db over the 370 watt model. $200 for 2 db actually gives you a bit more bang for the buck than paying $800-1000 for 6db by buying a second unit. But I myself would rather pay the premium for having the second unit, as 2 subs would allow the gains to be lowered reducing driver/amp workload and reduce potential distortion. Actually thats exactly what I did.

Two would be sweet to have. Had I done that though, I'd have been lying in a puddle of blood looking up at my wife as she asked me how to reload the pistol.

I've waiting for Brain to contact me regarding my F15 but it sounds like he's back in stock. I'll call him to see what's the dealio with my sub. Can't wait.

I still don't understand the need for spending extra money on a servo sub, when it is totally unnecessary with processors that have DSP and subwoofer EQ!!!!!!

I have spoken with several experts in the field, and gotten similar answers from those I contacted. I find no basis in reading a company"Spec sheet" promoting his products. That's like extolling the virtues of a Honda over a Hyundai, and telling me to read the Honda promo sheet.

My processor has neither - it does not even EQ the sub! Additionally, the Rythmik is actually cheaper than other non-servo brands so it's kind of thrown in for free and by all accounts seems to do a good job.

Nemesis, Without any DSP or EQ, I would agree with the choice of a servo sub. The fact that the Rythmik is cheaper than other servos is just a feather in your cap.

You could characterize the subwoofer and use DSP to alter its response. Or, use a Servo system to compare the output to the input and make corrections on the fly. Servo doesn't correct for in-room response errors, DSP could depending on its implementation.

If you want to believe someone that is looking to push their own products, that's fine with me. I didn't say there is anything wrong with a servo sub, just that servos are not the be all or end all of subwoofer design. If it was, every subwoofer would be a servo.
