It looks lovely!
Seems to be a fingerprint magnet though... but maybe not. I'm sure that Steve'll let us know after a few days' usage...

Mine will be matte black - I'm curious to see how well (or at all) it matches the Emotiva satin. I don't want a shiny surface in my HT.

Sorry for this off topic question, but why some people' avatars are invisible with a small red cross in the top left corner? Are they being punished for bad behavior?

The Rhythmik black matte is a good match, darker and more grainy but blends well in a dark theatre and is much less reflective than other finishes. I just wish the driver's cone was darker.

I notice that a few people here comment that along with their amps, the also refrain from using a surge protector on their subwoofer. Got my new Rythmik 600w f-15 in and I do have a high voltage protector... should I use it? There is nothing on the Rythmik site to indicate yes or no and I haven't opened the box yet and checked any documentation that may have come with it because I was only at home long enough to sign for it from UPS. I hope to get it set up and running VERY SOON ;D

WHen it comes to surge protectors, I dont use them on amps. I use them on TV's,PJ's, pre/pros etc, but not on amps. Some use them on everything, some dont use them at all.

Do you mean it "works great" in that it has already protected the sub from a surge and saved you $$$ or that the sub seems to be working normally connected to it?

Wow, you guys with all your subs! For me, just 1 SVS PB-12 Ultra in Rosenut. Makes a nice end table, and I can "feel" the love in Stereo or 5.1!

Well, a Woman needs shoes and a Man needs a Sub-woofer. I have two Janis W-1 Sub`s. Those heavy Monsters produce a little Earthquake in my Apartment every Time I watch a Movie. I really like it, my Neighbors not.. ;D Greetings from Germany

Currently my sub is the weakest area of my system. I have Three Polk Audio PSW10's(But normally only run Two of them).
Though I can already see,if the New Emotiva Subs are still on Sale by the last week of June(or first week of July)I will be purchasing a New Emotiva 10inch Sub. I also Have a Heavy Duty 10inch Driver and 100 watt(rated)/200 watt(peak) Sub Plate Amp.So I plan on getting a sub box and building my own sub.(To go with the Emotiva Ultra 10)
The Ultra 10 has more Features then I have seen on a sub anywhere close to this price. And with the way Emotiva Builds Amps,I have a Good Feeling, its going to be one Kick**$ Performer.

Reading this has given me some sub envy. Currently I am running an MFW-15. Has plenty of thump/boom or shake for the money. Glass black with a Rose-nut faceplate. My wife wasn't thrilled when she saw how big it was, but she loves the way the couch shakes when watching movies.

I have a Velodyne SPL1200-R. I like it, and it has a lot of definition. I can distinguish differences in bass notes that before were just rumbles. The Velodyne was a compromise, the first time I had really run ito the WAF. My old sub was a passive downfiring 15" dbx. It was pretty big. I told her what I wanted, a HSU-VTF MK3 Turbo. She informed me in no uncertain terms that whatever the replacement, it would not be as big as the current ugly thing. When I showed her the pic of the HSU with the turbo I almost had to sleep out in the RV! She didn't mention the sub had to be cheap, I I got the best small sub I could find at the time. The kicker is, it lives next to my left tower, and on the right, there is this space, that for symetry purposes is just begging for a second sub! I told her I was thinking of selling the Velodyne and getting the Emotiva twin 12s when they come out, that they would be the same size as the Velodyne but 2 of them, to make the frot symetrical. I got "The Look", but it was not completely shot down. Truth is, I have been reading up on IB, and I have a huge attic space. I am very seriously considering this rout, then there would be no "boxes" for her to complain about, and I could get the output I REALLY want.

" Truth is, I have been reading up on IB, and I have a huge attic space. Yes, if you have the space and the tools, the Infinite Baffle Subwoofer is a great choice. I'm 95% finished with mine, with 4 of the 15" Atlas drivers. It's installed but I've got to get the right cables, tune the Behringer 1124 for the bass EQ, and make a screen to cover the opening in my wall. Preliminary listening is impressive. Keep in mind the bass output of 4 drivers in IB mode is about the same as 1 in a sealed box, but the quality of the bass is much better. It's not my pic, but mine looks like this manifold near the bottom of home.comcast.net/~infinitelybaffled/page2IB-IBmanifold.htmlI used to own a Definite Technologies PF15 sub and I was never really that thrilled with it. I'm looking forward to when I get the IB dialed in.
