Anyone else having issues with the bass and treble not working under parameters?? Does not do anything to fronts, center or rears.
UMC1 was pretty much working great last night after the FW and I posted on the forum my happiness with the unit. I wake up today and now all of a sudden I'm experiencing the audio drop outs, center channel is nonexistent until you change inputs back and forth etc.
Not going to send it back yet. Hopefully Emotiva will get a quick fix for this!!

I am having the same issue with my center channel dropping out. I hope that this can be addressed. I wonder how frequent the audio drop out may be.
Oh, and it had to happen when I was having my wife check out the system after I did all the updates. Her first response was, "I thought they were going to fix this"
That hurt...

Her first response was, "I thought they were going to fix this" LOL....same in my house. I've been telling her that all the little issues would be fixed with the new FW. Hard to explain more dropouts than before...and it even failed to shutdown again this morning. She humors me, but I could see that look in her eyes. R

I understand completely. I had promised my wife that some of these issues will be resolved with this firmware update. She is not one to suffer technical glitches lightly and holds me responsible for them.

No kidding, my wife asked me why I updated, with the audio dropouts we are now experiencing. We're getting full drops (No audio), haven't had the center channel issue. And I haven't played with the parameters yet.
I really want to love my UMC, but it seems to be getting worse not better, at least in my case.
And I really really don't want to go searching for something different, besides my wife might blow a gasket if we have to get something else, because I know it will be hard to find a true pre/pro at the UMC price.
I'm keeping it for now, hopefully we'll have some confirmation from Emo addressing some of the issues. Strike 2
I plan on doing some more extensive testing to see what else effects me.

EMO is now warned - the wives are getting involved. Dan, Lonnie - you know what is going to happen if ALL these issues are not fixed in the next firmware.

Yep pretty much the same here. My wife uses the HT as much as I do and many times when I am away on business. She is not as patient as I am with glitches. I am happy to report that the input switching is much improved and she really likes that fix. But she is putting me on notice that I have to return if the audio drop outs aren't fixed. She hates this. I too really love the sound and am content that they will fix it, but not sure how long she'll let me play with it when we have a perfectly functioning AVR with pre-outs in a box.

Jeez, this is really disappointing to read. My wife really liked how the UMC sounded even with all the glitches. I sent mine back and h ave yet to receive it. I am starting to think the UMC is not all that it's cracked up to be. This sucks real bad for Emotiva.

If anything, the audio dropouts seem to have gotten worse for me.
It used to be that while watching cable TV from my DVR every once in a while I would lose the center channel when fast forwarding or rewinding, (I'd say about once or twice during an hour long show). But just this morning I was watching V from the DVR and I lost the center channel 3 or 4 times in 20 minutes. Luckily, fast forwarding or rewinding would bring it back, so at least I didn't have to change inputs to get the sound back, but the problem is still there.

I am also having drop outs with the center channel when watching "UP" DTS-HD MA which I didn't have before the update.

Thanks for any info. Then you haven't tried playing a CD over HDMI (in stereo mode) on an input with lip-sync delay set to 75 or above. p.s. have you listened to PLIIx?

Completely unacceptable. This product is two years late, and Emotiva is still using customers to beta test bugs that should have never made it this far into production. The UMC-1 does sound great, but these issues can only be described as design flaws.
We still have to reset our Directv HR-22 every time we turn off the UMC-1 when the other unit is still on. That's not an HR-22 design flaw. That's an Emotiva design flaw. And its not a small inconvenience when your wife calls you raging mad because she has to do this every other day!

I don't follow that. I just happened to throw a CD into the DVD player, that had lipsync delay set from previous movie viewing.

The UMC-1 does sound great, but these issues can only be described as design flaws. I wouldn't call them "design flaws", I would call them "implementation/procedural flaws". Emo has already done MOST of the hard work. The product is almost there. If you take the TOTAL of all remaining issues, it is less than 15. If done properly, this could be fixed in 2 weeks. Yes, there will be skeptics, but I think most on this board believe that the remianing issues will be fixed. But, Emo HAS TO HAVE BETTER PROCEDURES in place. At this level (or at any level), you just can't afford to have code corruption (every single FW release, starting with the FIRST one). Anyone who has been involved in any SW dev knows how important a proper check-out/check-in procedure is)

Can anyone who has upgraded to new firmware confirm that the bass and trebble adjustments under parameters menu actually works. Im just curious if its an isolated issue or not
