After being frustrated most of the day I figured hey maybe something got corrupted on the FW between the laptop and UMC. So I decided to start the process all over.
Noticed something immediately. When getting ready to transfer the UMC-1_v6....... It looks like the file was modified late in the day yesterday. In process of doing the FW again. I will report back if it makes a difference but I could swear the file earlier yesterday was date stamped from 4/10/2010 and the one I just downloaded is from 4/13/2010 @ 17:40:36 and a different data length??

Hey Dano, When you got the firmware yesterday, did you download a single zip files with the 3 .upg files through the link on emotiva.com/umc1updates.shtm or did you go the back-door route and hit umcsoftware.com/updates/ ? I did notice the firmware on umcsoftware.com/updates/ went through a few different iterations yesterday. Because of the changes, I waited and grabbed it through the "official" link on the emotiva.com website. I haven't loaded it yet (got home late, didn't want to go through the whole setting up of inputs again, plus all the banter in the forums made me leery), so I can't yet speak to how well it works in my own setup...

Who runs umcsoftware.com? If it's a third party, why do we have two different sources? Sounds like a recipe for problems.

Reloaded new files as per previous post and same issues with audio drop outs, center channel dissapearing, sometimes just one of the fronts work, no treble or bass controls, noticed PLIIx went to PLII (??). PLII makes the rears just as loud as the fronts!! I downloaded the files straight from the UMC page--this is were I noticed the change on the one file as mentioned earlier. I am beginning to assume that some of are units are faulty. I got mine back in Feb which would make it first or second run I would think?? Any feedback from Emotiva would be great!!!!! Who did the beta testing with V6 FW?? Why were these issues not discovered then?? This is why I think some issues are hardware related not software. I'd rather have issues with my triggers than having audio drop outs CONSTANTLY!!!!

Dan hasn't logged in since: Today at 1:41am Lonnie last logged in at: Today at 3:19pm
I'm sure Lonnie is doing a lot of reading, and Dan will be.
I'd rather wait a day or so for an intelligent response; I'm sure they're still catching their breath from getting the update posted.

Ask for a RMA. This sounds like hardware.

Well Cathy - can you please make sure that Dan takes care of the 10+ issues with the new FW (within one week)? If he doesn't, you should tell him that this "Mobile Lounge" will be his new sleeping quarters...

This was discussed earlier in this the UMC-1 Firmware??? thread (obviously not easy to find). I've posted MD5 checksums for all the .upg's over at the Emonatics UMC-1 page. The updater should really perform this check itself, enough things that is in doubt that this should not be open for operator error or oversight.

wizardofoz, Thank you! I forgot I was changing the folder structure around. When I did, I didn't get the links updated on the new FW page. Try now.

hey Bill. Just noticed something with the MD5 checklist. On your page you have it listed as UMC-1_v6_02_02_20100413.upg but the file I downloaded from EMO says UMC-1_v6_02_04_20100413.upg Notice the difference? Anyway I tried the MD5 with everything and it tells me all the codes do not match. I am getting very FRUSTRATED---not at you at this whole process.
