am asking how you tested your LFE channel. Do you have some kind of program that encodes the low freqs as LFE information?? I would like to to this myself so I'd like to find out how you made them. The cheapest way to do it is to create 6 48kHz white noise or pink noise (depends on how your RTA works) tracks in Audacity. Reduce the level of track 4 by 10dB (that's the LFE) and export as AC-3. Play back through S/PDIF into UMC-1. Then measure the UMC's RCA outs with a RTA. That allows you to check all UMC settings in realtime. Best, Markus

Is it just my eyes playing tricks on me or did the front display change on the UMC-1 after this bata install?
the display use to show you what input and so forth not sure if this was always the case but now the display is showing the mode twice...
maybe it is just me I don't know.... does anyone else see this?

What's the best way to report bugs with the V6 beta software?
The google docs spreadsheet, dedicated thread, or direct mail to Lonnie?
If we had a dedicated thread, then other people could test reported bugs themselves to see if they could replicate?
Wonder if Lonnie might weigh in on what would be most helpful to him?

THIS looks much like a 'dedicated thread'.
Just saying

It confused me back when I first got the umc but I ended up figuring it out.

this is not a dedicated thread, but i just throw this one out there to help Emotiva capture the feedbacks ... as Lonnie mentionned on the Dan update threads, you can email them directly or else, i guess i can regroup all the answers and sum up something for Lonnie and Dan ... what do you guys and girls think?

just wanted to say that I have not had a audio drop out... I've had one audio outage, where the audio would not come back until I changed inputs. After 4 hours of use before I updated with the beta, I easily would have had countless dropouts from changing back and forth from 2.0 to 5.1 & visa/versa, but I have had none so far except for the outage that forced me to change inputs. So far this beta seems to have significantly helped in the dropouts from my Motorola DCH3200 HD set-top box.

hmmmm have you tried v5 lcseminole? I used to have occasional dropouts over HDMI which could only be corrected by input change. Perhaps they just reverted back to that behavior.

Installed the beta and it works nicely. No audio drop outs this evening on cable or DVR. One very nasty screech going from 2.0 to 5.1 (same as b4).
Thanks Lonnie for issuing the Beta - it's an improvement. Just keep the bug fixes coming and resist the temptation to add ANY features until the product is really stable.

BIG improvement !
No losses of audio this evening....normal v6 would have seen DOZENS.
I'll explore further tomorrow. So far, I'm loving this.
Thanks guys!!

Where did you get your LFE test tones?? Made them myself. Would you be able to share them please?

The Firmware is a picklist with all the current options there to choose. thanks everyone
