While I am on the great email notification list, I think I will not be one of the first penguin's in the water. I am going to hold off unitil I've had a chance to read other users' thoughts on the XDA-1. My cds fight me every time I try to play them in my DVD player. They tell me in no uncertain terms that I don't respect them. So, they only way to bring peace between my cd collection and me is to buy the ERC-1 or the XDA-1. :-)

The XDA-1 has the potential to add "heat" and "devotion" to the love affair. I already have the ERC-1 and USP-1 and the synergy of that pairing has added spice in listening to my music. Now I am anxious to see just how much the XDA-1 can bring to the relationship.

Alright now Ronnie, this hot and heavy talk isn't appropriate for the Lounge family atmosphere. ;D As for e-mails, I received an e-mail from Janna today saying that they are expecting the first shipment of XDA-1s to arrive around the 24th, and to call with my payment information. My guess, and it's just a guess, no insider info, is that those on the EmoFest sign up sheet for the XDA-1's will be receiving a similar e-mail as mine. I'm quite excited as this is going to bring a whole new revival to my collection of mp3's & aac music files.

It would depend on the number of buyers on the Emofest pre-order verses the number of XDA-1s in the first shipment. All this is just speculation. I joined the pre-order list within the first 5 minutes of it appearing on their website. I'm hoping I make it in the first shipment so I can use my UMC-1 $100 discount voucher. Fingers crossed. Dave.

What I remember from the latest webcast was that asd of that date the first shipment of XDA's was sold out. I reserved the first day the reserve button became available. Man, I really hope I made the cut as I've not received an email yet. There couldn't have been that many signing up at Emofest I hope!

So it means no XDA under the xmas tree if i'm not in the first batch? Well, how about a: "Red Ryder carbine-action, two hundred shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and a thing which tells time" !

So it means no XDA under the xmas tree if i'm not in the first batch? Just keep your tree up a little longer - lets say until March - to be on the safe side

As I recall, I thought there was some announcement made when the preorder list went to a "waiting list" status - that is, up until that point they had enough coming on the first shipment to cover all the preorders but then when this announcement was made, that was the cutoff point where everyone after that would get a later shipment. I signed up within a few minutes of the post-Enofest preorder announcement so I'm hoping to be a part of the first shipment..

I'm ok either way. I signed up on the site pretty quickly, but if I don't get in on the first batch, I can live with that.

I received two e-mails from emotiva on Oct. 11 informing me of the preorder list. Both of them stated that the XDA-1 would start shipping on December 1. I took that to mean if I signed up immediately that mine would ship on or near Dec. 1. I now realize that the email didn't state I would get mine on Dec.1
Still, out of curiosity, did everybody's email say they would ship on December 1?

You lucky people. I'll wait 'til friday and then maybe contact Emo to hear my fate. I still have hope, surely they are shipping more than just enough to cover the Emofest sign-ups? If not, I leave my XPA-3 to chuckie! The ERC will be buried with me.

I just got off the phone from speaking with Eric about the XDA-1's USB ports. There has been confusion as to just what the specs for the USB is really capable of handling. Well, now we have the official confirmation from Eric that the XDA-1 DOES handle 24 bit/192 KHz via its USB inputs. Of course it also handles 16/44.1, 16/48, 24/96, etc, etc. It will output whatever you send it without down converting the signal.

Oh yeah? Well I just got off the phone with with Janna, who says my XDA will ship shortly after Nov. 24. We now have 4 threads on this same subject, I wonder how many XDA's are coming?!
