Sorry it took me a little while to respond but I wanted to be sure I am thorough with all responses

1) MukAudio: Yes, by feeds I do mean RSS. There are all kinds of third party apps you can download for your phone to view all of the 'RSS feeds' that you subscribe to. Or if you have a google account you can just use google reader (which probably works best on our phone since android devices run google apps anyway).

2) sticksnstones: Thank you! I try.. and I will try not to be so low key all the time, especially if you guys continue to give awesome feedback on what I'm doing

3) Bruce, sticksnstones, chuckienut: The original XMC pre-order list will still be honored.

4) chuckienut: No, you cannot receive an upgrade certificate on an upgrade purchase. You would need to purchase another processor without using an upgrade certificate in order to receive an upgrade for the next generation. It is a little confusing because you can receive an upgrade certificate if you buy a processor at a discounted price (like our holiday sale going on now, for example). You just cannot use an upgrade certificate to receive another upgrade certificate. You must always buy one processor (not using a certificate) to get one certificate. Think BOGO (you buy ONE, you get ONE) - you use the one, and it's gone.

5) a2058: Your upgrade certificate does not expire and you can use it on any future generation processor of your choosing . Since you have not used it on the UMC-1, you CAN use it on the XMC-1. All owners that bought a generation 1 processor are eligible for an upgrade certificate. We did not start sending physical certificates until gen 2 processors (the UMC-1), however, so please call Emotiva if you believe that you are eligible and want to use it. If you bought directly from us then we can look it up in the system. If you bought from AV123 then you will need proof of purchase (credit card statement, invoice, etc.)

** In addition to all information given in 4 & 5: If you are a certificate holder (e.g. you can physically hold the certificate in your hands), whether you received it with the original processor, found it on the street, stole it from a friend (although I don't encourage that) or were given it with the purchase of a used processor - it is all yours and you can use it. If your certificate was eaten by your dog, flushed down a toilet, or just flat out lost, we are sorry, but you can no longer use it for upgrade. **

There is a small problem with the math on the Sale Price for the ERT-8.3 speakers in the splash screen on the Home Page. You are showing a savings of $149, but the delta between the sale price and the normal price is $89 -- a $60 error. I suspect that the normal price should have been posted as $1598 instead of $1538. You may want to double check what the various posted numbers should be in order to avoid confusion or upset customers.

Correct. You will not get another 40% discount to use until you buy another processor without using a discount. You buy one processor, get one discount to use on another processor, and then you must start over again. I am not sure how this process was understood by everyone in the past - this is just what I have learned about it since I started working here.

This is confusing, and it definitely was not what I had originally understood. In my case, I was the original owner of an MMC-1 (paid full price). Due to this, I expect I will receive 40% off of the XMC-1 when I purchase it next year - I don't think anyone is disputing that.

However, I thought that when a next gen processor comes out after that, I would be able to purchase that for 40% off.

So, maybe the simpler way to ask this is: I bought an MMC-1 brand new, full price. I will be purchasing an XMC-1 next year at 40% off. Will I receive the new 40% off certificate when I receive my new XMC-1?

EDIT: This is probably the wrong thread to be discussing this, but it seemed worth mentioning. I think it would be great to have an "official" description of the upgrade program on Emotiva.com

I have read the upgrade program info.That is why I do not understand why I would not receive another certificate.As I understand the program details it is to reward customers and also to keep them purchasing future pre/pro's from Emotiva.I will admit that if I was not receiving the 40% off on the XMC-1 I would be purchasing the Marantz AV7005.I will say after my run is over with the XMC-1 and it comes time to repurchase another pre/pro,And I will have to pay full price for it I will probably be buying elsewhere.

It's meant to give you an upgrade path for a single future purchase, not meant to give you a cheap upgrade for your entire life. If they did that every time you made a purchase they'd make no money. How many companies give you even one 40% off coupon to use on a future upgrade? I can't think of any others, and I know none of them will give you a 40% off coupon on top of one you just used for that product.

Like someone else said, how many companies even give any 40% off discount to begin with? A one time offer is pretty generous and I don't know why anyone would expect to keep getting that same offer. Companies are entitled to make a profit. It is probably a lot more profitable for them to lose customers whose loyalty depends on continuing discounts, rather than to keep giving out those discounts and shorting themselves on the bottom line. Emo stuff already represents a very good value as it is with the regular prices; any discounts they offer just adds to an already good deal.

Equipment of the same caliber as Emotiva usually sells for a lot more money than the regular Emo price.

Exactly, even at full price, it's still a bargain. It's amazing that they would even consider a 40% off deal in the first place, considering the already low prices. It's still far cheaper than any comparable pre/pro or receiver, so how could anybody complain about not getting 40% off? lol. I know I wouldn't offer 40% off every generation if I was the owner. They need money in their pockets like everybody else in the world.
