Hello everyone! Dan, Cathy, and Lonnie recorded a long-awaited podcast for everyone this Friday: emotiva.com/news/index.php/2010/10/29/podcast-92910/I'm sure you will all notice that this is not where you usually find our podcasts (they are usually in the 'webcast' section of our site). I wanted to ask if anyone would be opposed to me posting them in the news section of the site only from now on? I recently set up the news section as a blog so those of you that use feed readers could subscribe and get all of our news to you in real time, without having to check the forum, and also so you can get it to your phone (if your phone has that capability). Another reason for setting up the news section as a blog was the need to house all of our updates - whether it's a press release, review, or podcast - in the same section of our site instead of in various place throughout it. Let me know if it does or doesn't make sense to you for me to do it this way. I will have the podcast up in the usual webcast section of the site by the end of the day today for everyone until the news section becomes a habit ;D

I just got a DroidX and this was the first time I could listen before I got home. Made me very happy and it was an exciting podcast to boot!

But yes, I like it

I'm vaguely aware of the concept, but haven't taken the time to figure out how to use them. I caught your post on the Emotiva facebook and raced over to the website with the hopes that it would work on my phone. I could never listen on my Black Berry. Mark.

You are much more low key than your predecessor but very effective. I think the manuals are looking good too! I think putting the podcasts in the news section makes perfect sense. Take care and thanks for taking care of us!

I was listening to the Podcast where a pre-order list for the XMC was mentioned and that it might be made available at the first of the year.
Can you confirm that the original XMC pre-order list will be honored as I have been on that list for 2 years. Thanks Rachel.

Thanks Reg and Bruce, I had the same question as I have been on that list for almost 5 years now.

One more question for Rachel:
If one orders the UMC-1, receives the upgrade certificate and uses it for the XMC-1 when it is released, will we also get another certificate with the purchase of the XMC-1 for the next future generation pre-pro? (Sorry if this has already been covered at the Lounge)
;D

What about those of us who bought the LMC-1, do we get a certificate too ? (never having bought the UMC-1) How is this going to be handled...?

I loved the latest podcast. Lots of great information in there. If any of you have not yet tuned in...you are missing out on some cool news. I am EXTREMELY pleased to see that legacy video inputs have been added to the XMC-1, another excellent move by Emotiva. Now I am just waiting for that holiday sale to start... ;D

There was a thread about this in the lounge but it got locked. I'm hoping emotiva can finally clarify the upgrade policy, as the policy on their website contradicts the email I received which said that if you use a 40% off certificate on the Umc-1, you would not be able to get an xmc-1 for 40% off. If so that's fine, just need a reconciliation of the policy versions floating around so each customer, regardless of their processor purchases in the past, know what to do.

Before the thread got locked Cathry (I believe) said that you only got the upgrade certificate if you paid full price for the unit. So, if you bought your unit 2nd hand, if you previously used a 40% off upgrade you do not get to double dip (two 40% discounts in a row).
Guys I heartily recommend that we don't open this thread up to this debate as there were a number nasty post in the thread I referenced that resulted in it being locked. Please call Emotiva (or email) if you have any questions on what there policy is.
