I told them to cancel your order Monku as I figured you wouldn't be able to hear the difference anyway. ;D Just kiddin, just remembering your Yaquin tube buffer experiment.

That's because I don't have the XDA-1 in the chain! ;D Actually you are right maybe I won't be able to hear the difference but then I'll never know unless I try, right? I do need a good DAC to hook up to the Sonos box. That's my rationalization for the day. Or this morning. Or this hour. Or minute. ;D

Thanks for the heads up on lowering the volume. I would have definitely missed that step and probably killed my speakers.

I think you'll easily be able to tell a substantial difference as compared to the Sonos. My ERC-1 always dusted my Sony ES blu ray player SQ wise. Now with the DAC added to the Sony, it easily beats out the ERC-1. Now time to try the ERC-1 as the transport to see if that is a noticeable diffference.

Your welcome Mark,
Just finished listening to some Bob Segar, now moving on to Robert Cray. Sounding smooth and sweet with all Genre's so far.

Even more impressed with the ERC-1 as the transport. Getting goosebumps on songs that I normally don't. The differences between tranports is even more subtle, but with the ERC-1, the background is quieter even still, even more detail, songs are still going on at the end a lot longer than I realized, and yes I hate this cliche', but "I am hearing things I've never heard or noticed before in the music" Funny how a lot of products are brighter when you hear more detail, not with this thing, you get smoother, richer and a more liquid sound and still with greater detail. Gotta love it. :-)

Going to order some more digital cables from Moon Audio so I can enjoy the DAC with my Blu- Ray player and TV box untill "if" and "when" I change from a 2.1 system to 5.1. Right now I'm rebelling against surround sound due to the rapid technology changes that make your equipment obsolete every 6 months. :-( BTW, Drew at Moon Audio makes some custom cables using DH Lab wire and adding Cardas connectors using Cardas silver solder. His work looks and sounds great for those interested.

Currently using my Sony Blu-ray as a transport so I can directly compare the XDA-1 to the ERC-1. First impressions, smooth, sweet, and detailed. Currently run thru the USP-1 for switching and bass management. May try direct later but it will be with only monitors and no sub. You have got to try it direct! Trust me on this. ;D

FYI if your XDA-1 is shipping FEDEX EXPRESS you will get a tracking number as we enter your shipment.
If you are in the US FEDEX GROUND shipments take longer to receive tracking numbers, they are not processed until the shipment is picked up this afternoon. So far we have 13 pallets!

Lonnie is correct. The improvements that the XDA-1 adds are more noticeable when hooked up direct to amps. Sound is more 3 dimensional now, even greater detail, seems like it's just a more "intimate" connection to the music. Even Monku will be able to hear the differences connected direct. ;D

I will be converting my CD collection (Approx 300 CD's) to FLAC files, hopefully this week. I can't wait to hear the tunes using the XDA-1! The convenience of accessing all that music quickly is going to be sweet, not to mention the excellent sound from the XDA-1.

Awesome product Lonnie, my only wish with it lies with the remote. I wish it was a combo remote like the new metal one for the USP-1 that would control both the ERC-1 and XDA-1 together. :-) Also, I like the way the led screen rolls "Emotiva XDA-1" when it turns on, just a cool little touch.

Sweet mini review Briank, mine is shipping out today. Will have it december 7th, can't wait to try it out. I'm using a Asus Xonar D2 ( www.trustedreviews.com/multimedia/review/2007/08/02/Asus-Xonar-D2-Sound-Card/p1 ) at the moment, running analog from my computer for quite some distance, then straight into my 2xUPA-1's. Gonna plug the XDA-1 straight from my PS3 using optical, hoping to get some serious upgrade in soundquality! Then I need to hunt down a really long digital cable to go from my computer, optical och coaxial.

Are we just regular ground if we just called in with our CC? Thanks!

The DAC1's headphone amp and lack of a remote have made it ideal for my headphone setup, while the XDA-1's remote and lack of headphone amp make it ideal for my living room system... So soon we'll see how a humble $300 XDA-1 compares with a $1K DAC1...

Come on... stop complaining and tell us if you are going to be keeping this. ;D Don't be bashful. Tell us what you think about it. You know that you are making all of us jealous. I just looked in the mirror and I have turned green with envy. Seriously, great job. At least we can experience the wonder of the XDA-1 vicariously, through you. I wish I lived just around the corner from Emotiva's HQ like someone I know. I guess I will just have to wait for FEDeX to deliver mine. Wow! Thirteen pallets of XDA-1s already processed and ready to ship. There have been some very busy people in the warehouse. How many trucks will FEDeX need to pick up today's outgoing shipments?
