Yeah, for some reason, Emotiva decided not to publish this diagram from the USP-1 manual which shows the location of 80Hz around 11:00. With it set this way, my system sounds the same as it did with my last preamp, which had a fixed 80Hz crossover... emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/26546?452284=undefined (scroll down a bit) 11 olcock is about 80hz? ty Careful guys: I called EMO tech support to ask, and I was told that crossover Frequency adjustment dials on the XSP-1 are *different* from those on the USP-1... The crossover measurement adjustment on the XSP-1 is linear, unlike the one on the USP-1. It means 80 Hz on the XSP-1 would not correspond to 11 O'clock (as it does on the USP-1), but to a location slightly below 9 o'clock (or to be more exact, the middle spot between the 8 o'clock and 9 o'clock markers on the XSP-1)... I thought I should share this piece of information as the difference it makes is quite substantial:Summary :1. 80Hz on the USP-1 = 11 o'clock 2. 80 hz on the XSP-1 = 8:30 (9 o'clock = 90 hz) 3. * 11 o'clock on the XSP-1 = 130 hz*

I'm almost out of coverage and can't get website up. Does the XSP-1 have dual sub outs? Keep Casting - JC It has three sub outs. Stereo (L/R) and a mono output.

I end up at 9.30 or 100 hz cut offs .. so only -12 db at 50hz and 200hz for the low and hi pass.. sound good to me

Can a XSP-1 G2 owner do me a favor and measure how high it sits? The space I want to place it is way too close to the meaurement on the product page, so I just want to confirm a measurement from a real world owner with an actual unit. Thanks in advance.

How good is the crossover in the xsp-1? I use full range out now. Is their any sound loss as in quality by using the built in crossover. Looking for peoples opinions . I'm going to try it myself just curious if anyone else has tried it. So far I love my xsp-1. I've never had so much fun with music sense building a emo system.

I hope this help.

Does the XPS-1 Gen 1 have HDMI passthrough? I'm trying to put together a 2 channel system but I also want the sound from TV/Cable box and DVD player come through the speakers occasionally.

Yes. as @bmoney mentioned you would use the HT bypass. Not with an HDMI cable (as that is digital and the XSP-1 is analog). You would use the RCA pre-amp outputs on your AVR OR your DVD player which ever one you prefer into the HT bypass. Don't worry it works the same. You just have to make sure your AVR or DVD player has RCA pre-amp outputs. Some AVR's and DVD players have only two pre-amp outputs- which means it will only output stereo, while some have the whole 7 outputs plus subwoofer out as well.

New here and 1st post. I have a replacement XPS Gen2 that should be here tomorrow. The 1st one came with issues. I called CS and they were fantastic to deal with. I am doing a shootout between that and a Parasound P5. Just on looks and the layout, i have to say the xps is better on a few counts. 1, the RCA distance is spread out enough for larger locking RCA's whereas the p5, they actually toch each other. Also the remote looks better. I like having the tone or "trim" on the remote. By the time you get up, go behind the speakers, go back to your chair, give it a few and have to get back up again is frustrating! Just having that on the remote to me is fantastic!.
Anyway, this will be my first emo product. I have a w4s dac2, and a McIntosh MC402 amp with legacy focus and polk lsi9 for smaller speakers. I am excited to hear this unit. There is not may nice preamps out there that have tone. 80% of the time I don't use tone but, let's face it, there is a lot of great music out there with bad recordings that need a little boost to make them more listenable.
My hat's off to the sales people I talked to on the phone and CS on the replacement. All of them were helpful.

Did you mean an XSP-1 gen 2? Because the XPS is a phono pre-amp that is about a hundred bucks. Congratulations erniejade!
