For my initial comparison, I ran without sub. Since then, I have added a sub in reference stereo with some tricky wiring and some help from features on my sub. I've shared that multiple times here. If you want to see it, I'll dig it up and repost. Hard to find on my phone right now. Mark It’s cool Mark, I’m on phone too. Cheers Gary

Gary CookHere's a link to how I do a sub with reference stereo to avoid the XMC-1 doing ADC/DAC. --->CLICK HERE<---I even do it with choice of FR/FL amp, and that's a bit nuts...but sometimes I like my Hypex and sometimes I like my PrimaLuna Tube amp. With my Maggies, they roll off a lot below 40 hz, so running them full range and feathering the sub in works quite well...as well as using the XSP-1 for limit the low end and high end. I can imagine that with other speakers, that might not be true. Also note, with my XMC-1, I just use the RCA for the sub in 2.1 mode off the FR/FL. With the XMC-2 not having RCA's, I'd have to split the FR/FL XLR...not hard to do at all. Mark

Mark That's Mark I recall the post, my sub is a 17" driver in 140 litre DIY cabinet with an XPA-100 as the power amp, hence no low pass control. For that I use the XMC-1 for HT 5.1 and the XSP-1 for stereo 2.1 music. I also run the FL and FR full range, with a bit of measuring and mostly listening I have integrated the sub below them. Cheers Gary

Cheers Gary That makes sense...if you didn't use the XSP-1 for low pass control, you'd have to use something. Luckily, my sub has ability to do that while also taking signal from the LFE that's been controlled by the XMC-1. Mark
