Don't be surprised if the first boatload sells out very fast. Some of us have been camped out waiting for these for a long time. Plus some of us are working on the pre-pro section of an eight year old receiver. Besides, I heard that the first 100 buyers get a free turkey next Thanksgiving. Well let's hope that the XMC-1 has been thoroughly tested and that you don't wind up with two turkeys. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ...Best one of the day so far!

After visiting, the realized that although the new units will be mighty mighty in time and after some user feedback over the next year or so, instead I decided to consolodate all the wiring and spitters now and went with the new Onkyo. That is not to say I could not switch when the Emo is ready, but for now, it is buy what is available and working and see what the future may bring. xx08 Series or xx09 Series? Because they are both problematic in their operation! Check over at AVS Forum on all the defective Oinkyo products from those two series! It's not small, it's BIG! Oinkyo's reign is just about over! _________________________ Oinkyo had its fair share of problems over the years; so is Denon, Yamaha, Marantz, Pioneer, Lexicon, Ayre, Rotel, NAD, Arcam, Sherwood Newcastle, and a bunch more... Right now there is only one safe place to be! Bob, Let me thank you from myself and ChuckieNut for finally getting the spelling for "Oinkyo" correct! ;D

I have been very lucky in my purchases over the years and have gone from Yamaha to Pioneer to Denon and now to Onkyo/Emotiva. I will continue to use Emo amplification and subwoofers and will check back when the new equipment is released and working. This is a living hobby that will never stop, contrary to what I tell my wife. I am really not set on a brand. Of the Onkyo owners only one had a problem and that was a burned out bulb. I will play nice with my stuff and see how things work.

I will play nice with my stuff and see how things work. Jack, Just in case you don't know me too well; => I recommended and still recommend lots of Oinkyo products to a lot of satisfied people who did purchase the recommended products. Me, myself and I, we owned and still own a few Onkyo products over the last four years. And we are very satisfied with our purchases. Oinkyo do make some excellent products that are solid (well built), and of great value (street prices). Plus they offer a lot of features for the money. And their performance is usually above the competition. Since 2007 (Spring), Onkyo took the lead in several aspects of the electronics market! ___________________ But there is simply no way that Onkyo can compete with the sheer POWER of Emo amplifiers for the money! No way Jose! And of course the same goes for Denon, Yamaha, Pioneer, Marantz, Arcam, NAD, Sherwood Newcastle, and you can name it... * As for the preamp section, or their dedicated pre/pros; they are chuck fulled of features (the latest and most advanced)! And for HOME THEATER SURROUND SOUND, that's good, that's very God! *** If you truly wanna 2-channel High End Stereo sounding system; you'll get yourself exactly that, a quality 2-channel Stereo preamp (or integrated amp), with a matching only 2-channel amp (or monoblock amps), and a dedicated source(s) of your choice (Turntable, CD player, SACD player, Reel-to-reel, ...). -> ANALOG or DIGITAL (with an externad DAC of your own choosing if you like). __--__--__--__--__--__ Let's talk straight here!

I would like to thank Dan and Cathy as well as the rest of the Emotiva crew for another awesome Emofest! It was one heck of a time.
I enjoyed seeing the members I met the first year as well as meeting new people from our forum and the guys from blu-ray forum. I had so much fun with all of you. It's incredibly awesome to find so many audio nuts in one area and I am already looking forward to next year.
I came home with a renewed energy to get my butt in gear and get to rebuilding my HT room that has been torn out for the last 6-8 months as well as building a dedicated 2-channel room. Now I just have to get the time away from my job and get my wife on board with the room layouts in the basement.

I tell you this, to all the people here:
Before you build that dream Sound/Visual system of yours, first, be passionate about Music & Movies!
You know what I'm sayin'. ...Music recordings of the highest artistic value, and intelligent Movies of the highest artistic integrity, have to become part of your life!
Without that, your multi-million-dollar-mansion-audio/video-system means NADA!

OK, OK, I'll see if Emo will move my name to the bottom of the list. If I pass on in the meantime I'll bequeath my spot to Jamrock. ;D Accepted! Life is uncertain. Yesterday is dead and gone. Tomorrow is promised to no one. Today is all you've got. Make the best of it. If I can cut the line, guess what? I'm going for it. If I buy early and there are bugs, I have 5 years free service to correct them. My advantage getting it first is: I'll get the cheapest price. Hence, the best resale value. I guarantee you that there will be a price increase by the time the first 500 units are sold or the pre-order list is exhausted. Thanx to your Royal Nut. Let me know if Cathy approves your suggestion. ;D You're a real case Jam! Look at the UMC-1 and the price right now!

Too many problems with the UMC-1 to justify a price increase. That problem (wanton bugs) won't plague the XMC-1. The UMC-2 (3D) will be $200.00 more!

Well I won the grand prize at Emo Fest 2011 and have got somewhat of a dilemma. My receiver is a Pioneer VSX-1120 and now I have the UMC-1 which is great but would I really see a difference in receivers with the UPA-7 and all the Emo Speakers & Sub?

Me, I'm quite happy with my Onkyo 807 and will continue to enjoy it either until the release of the XMC or even after if needed. ;D Ok, can you come over and set mine up ? Too many darn choices for me to pick from, I think my brains smells like burnt toast.

Manners please...
Please refrain from referring to other brands mentioned on our forum in a demeaning manner, please.
This is not the tone I want to encourage on this site. None of these brands deserve our disrespect. If you don't like them, then this is OK, but stick to the facts when discussing your feelings without resorting to name calling.
Thanks, Big Dan

The subject matter in this thread has gotten way off track, please refrain from off-topic matter as I'm sure there are many not wanting to wade through the extraneous stuff to get to links to pictures or information that was discussed at last weekends EmoFest. Thanks for everyones cooperation.
