Well, I finally did it! I finally dove into the Emotiva pool as it were. I made my first Emotiva purchase this past weekend and it was a doozy! I went all-in in a manner of speaking as it relates to my recent speaker purchase and bought an entire Reference Series 7.0 system and added the new X-Ref 10 subwoofer to boot to round it out to a 7.1 outfit. I purchased the ERT-8.3's, an ERM-6.3 for the center channel and 4 of the ERD-1's for my surround speakers. I was debating to buy your Ultra Sub 10 subwoofer when I glanced an eye at the recent release of the new X-Ref 10 and just couldn't resist! By the way, would be curious to get other Emotiva speaker owners opinions...THANKS, good to be aboard! So, after months and months of reading, evaluating, price comparing, listening and talking to subject matter experts I finally decided to make my decision...and I went with Emotiva! C'mon, let's be honest, the clearence prices are just too rediculously attractive to resist. I have looked at many similarly priced (at regular prices) set ups and from what I have read and learned these just can't be beat at these new prices. It's true...I haven't actually had the chance to hear them...and I suppose the "all sales final" is a bit of a gamble, especially on the most critical portion of my system. But I trust Emotiva's business and it's reputation didn't get to where it is by building a base of un-satisfied customers. So, I am rolling the dice a little here based on good faith and few really raving write-ups. So wish me luck everyone as I await delivery of my new Emotiva speaker system later this week. I hope it lives up to it's reputation...I imagine it will. We'll keep y'all posted!

Welcome to the madness. I'm certain you will be wowed by the sound. From almost all accounts the speakers are very good and we all know the amps and UMC-1 sound as good as some of the best.

Congrats and welcome to the lounge. I also jumped on a pair of 8.3's and a 6.3 for the center. Glad I did too. Knowing what I know now, I would have gotten them earlier but then would have missed out on the fantastic pricing. You'll like them right out of the box but give them some loosening-up time and you'll like 'em even better. Looking forward to hearing your impressions.

Thanks to the respondents so far who chimed in...I'm feeling a bit more at ease. I have gone from to and hope to be ;D after they get hooked up...hopefully this weekend! By the way, nice community that Emotiva has built up. Really unique in this world of mass marketers to have a small, more intimate family of customers helping to spread the good word. Good work Emotiva! Continued success. I guess I'll need to be trading in my Marantz and Denon gear one of these days KB

Wow- that takes some b@lls! Good for you! I have had my 8.3/6.3 L/C/R for 5 days now and I also had no idea what to expect, but I knew the price was too good to pass up.
I love my ERD-1s so I suppose I kinda knew what I was in for, but to go 7.1 all in - I think you will be very happy. Not sure what you had previously, but I am sure it will be a vast improvement. Mine get better each day I listen to them and love the sound for sure.
I should mention that I run (2) UPA-1 monoblocks and a XPA-5 as well as a UMC-1 so I may have a slightly different vantage point. Anyway, you should be stoked as this is a great setup, especially for the price.
Nice to see a fellow AZ person in the house!

Drew,
Glad to hear that you're enjoying your recent investment. Nice set-up by the way and I bet those Emo amps are real b@llbusters! Hoping my Marantz MM8003 won't buckle under the strain. By the way, my current speaker set up is a complete Cambridge SoundWorks 7.1 system with the Newton 500 towers. Not a bad mid-fi set up, but it was my first move to surround sound at the time and they just never totally lived up to expectations for critical musical listening. Will be nice to experience the new Emo set up.
Enjoy the speakers and thanks for the feedback!

Congrats on the new Emo speakers and sub. I am sure you will love them, it seems that almost everyone who gives them a shot ends up enjoying (and keeping) them in their systems. Please, report back to us once you have had some time to evaluate the new setup.

Welcome to the lounge Keith Hey, wait a minute! How did you know his first name is Keith? He only signed his post as KB. Are you one of them there sidekicks physics psychics or something? Oh yeah, welcome to the Lounge KB. You went whole hog and got it mostly over in one swing! The reason I said mostly is you still have to Chuck dump that Denon/Moreants/Bose, etc. stuff. BTW, watch it, there are few nuts hang out here. Welcome!Charles
