Well, I have been selling off every bit of my home theater over the last month or two and soon I hope to begin piecing it back together. This time it will be a slower, more tedious process as I want to add items as budget allows rather than "playing before I pay". Trying to be fiscally conservative here. Anyway, the one item I can't do without, or at least one of the items I can't do without is some sort of receiver. I want to do separates again but it's not in the cards right now and I don't want to buy a flagship receiver just to use it as a pre/pro. My plan is to go with (7) UPA-1 amps as budget allows. When the rack is fully populated with those I will pull the trigger on a nice processor (maybe XMC-1?). Until then I would like the least expensive receiver I can find (new or used) with the following requirements: -100W/channel or more. -Preouts of course. -7.1 channels or more. -Audyssey MultiEQ XT -HDMI 1.4 / 3D passthrough One other thing. I have owned Onkyo and really enjoyed my 705 model for years. I'm looking to try something new so nothing against Onkyo at all but I would like recommendations for other brands. I know that I'm also limiting my choices quite a bit by not considering Onkyo this time. Suggestions?

The Yammy RX-A810 looks nice, but it doesn't have Audyssey.

I also saw a few open box models at 6ave or onecall, can't remember which for nearly the same price as the one on the Polk and Videogon sites. One even said it retains the whole warranty so might be a better deal and no shipping.

Right now the Marantz SR5005 is available from Outlaw Audio for only $499 and comes with extra warranty and a re-wriiten Manual and they are running a sale for the next two weeks to bundle other Outlaw products at deep discount when you purchase the Marantz SR5005. The Marantz has all the features you said you are looking for. Free shipping is one of their advantages. Check it out.

All good suggestions guys, thanks! I think the Marantz 5005 sounds like a good buy for something I will probably replace in a year or less. Cheapest I have found new is $469 shipped.
