The ERC-2 has landed. This is a preliminary report as my amp and preamp are still in the shop.
Shipping: It was shipped at approximately 2:55pm on Monday Dec 12 and arrived at my door at 1:00pm today. Excellent.
Packaging: The outer box was in perfect shape, the inner box was in equally perfect shape. Excellent.
The player: There is only one thing I can say. Beeeyoootiful. This player has some substantial weight to it. There is a thin plastic coating over the display window that has to be peeled off(nice touch Emotiva). This player has the looks that belies the price it's sold for. It could easily sell for double or even triple the price. Well done Emotiva.
Remote: This may well be the finest remote I've ever seen. I had no trouble removing the screws so I could activate it. Two words of caution: 1. The back only goes on one way. If you put it on the wrong way, the center screw holes don't line up. 2. Don't drop it on your toes, it could do some serious damage LOL!! The buttons are very responsive with an audible click when pressed. Another "well done Emotiva"
The blue lights: I'm not too sure about them yet. They look nice, but I think they could be a little distracting. Methinks the lights will be dimmed when I'm listening.
Overall: This is a solid, beautiful, well constructed machine. The true test will come when I'm actually able to listen to music. As of right now, I'm extremely happy to be a member of the Emotiva family.
Thanks for reading and there is more to come.
