If the XPR-7 or XPA-7 is given a 3.3KVA power supply. There will be more happy days at Castle Hassle Free (my home).

I heard a rumor that it's going to be the dollar figure of each model number for the first 1,000,000,000 customers. So the XPR-1 will be a dollar, the XPR-5 will be a whopping five bucks. ;D ;D So hurry up and get em while you still can...

Watts? be it 5 watts or 500 watts, does it have anything too do with the quality of the sound?I say it does, more to do with the Clarity. What do you say about this?.Also Damping Factor,The higher the better it controls the driver for a tighter bass output. What do you think? Just checking with some of you Audio Guru guys.I am sure Lonnie or Big Dan can answer this but would like too know what us Audio Enthusiast say about this.

I believe what you're talking about was 3-6 month release they were going to do when they were suppose to release the xpr-7, I think it then changed when the xpr-5 will be released..
all going well xpr-5 april/may release, xpr-2 july/august or october/november, xpr september/october or december - 1st quarter next year...
unless they plan to add something into the mix other than the xpr amps.... and the xmc-1 ofcoarce!!!

can't seem to remember if Emo said there would be new XPR styled components to come once the XPR amps were out.. For the Reference Line of products, the only components that have been mentioned are: XPR amps, Reference Series speakers, Reference subs and recently Lonnie joked about a RMC pre/pro. I have argued that the Reference Series needs to be only components that will show a definite performance advantage over the X-Series and still leave room for upgrades in the X-Series line. Limiting components to the ones mentioned about should be just fine ;D

the only thing that might be odd is how the components won't match aestetically with the current crop of components, but hey they look promising.

All of my components are located behind smoke glass. I can only see the blue lights & graphics. So, I am going to be able to mis-match at will without esthetic consequences. A real plus. My speakers are always black so they fit very nicely in any decor. All I need is money!

Yea. But the Reference Line needs exclusivity and not run of the mill. Then you can't ask a good price for them. But I tend to agree with you

So being that these amps are going to sound exactly like the XPA series, what are the benefits besides more power. Going from 200 to 500 gives you maybe 4 db in volume, right? Do they have any new features or options?

Better parts selection and topology which result in: More power obviously. More drive capability. More durability. Better stability into complex loads. Better noise floor & channel separation and all that with a better appearance.
Like the old Jaguar commercial indicated: It is not just getting there. It is how you get there. It is qualities such as these why Bryston can offer a 20 yr warranty on their amps. Buy a Bryston and they will use it to play music at your funeral.

Do they have any new features or options? There is the possibility that these might have some mild sonic differences from the XPA series as these will be class H, as opposed to A/B. My MPS-1 seemed slightly "smoother" or "refined" (for lack of a better word) than did the XPA-5 I demoed against. Of course, there might also be no significant differences between the two lines.
