Alternate method is manual setup. Ah, gotcha. Thanks Mark.

Most certainly. For the members here that were not around during the early days of the UMC-1 launch, and Emotivas follow up responses to everything, I have to say that they went out of their way to make things right for the earliest adopters. First, they extended the 30 day trail period for a very, very long time. Then they gave UMC owners a $100 Emo bucks certificate, and of course, they also received the upgrade card as well. IMO, Emotiva did the right thing (and probably lost a lot of money in the process) to "make things right" for the owners of the UMC-1. Currently, they have them marked down to $500 and it STILL comes with the 40% off card...not too shabby if you ask me. Emotiva's customer service, and their willingness to take care of their customers speaks for its self IMO. Fret not early XMC-1 adopters, Emo has shown time and time again, that they WILL take good care of their customers. Emo also sent us the upgraded remote.

I was quite disappointed to hear that TacT would be delayed, but I now look at it this way: All the users who buy the XMC-1 without TacT are now the beta testers. I'll sit back and wait until al the non-TacT bugs are found (and hopefully fixed), and when TacT is available, I will then buy the XMC-1. Once I get it, I will do a my own thorough testing, and if it's not up to my standard, it will go back within the first 30 days. Hopefully by then it's rock solid, and it will be a keeper.

Finally made it home dropped JohnnyBlaze off around 1:00am "man those truck drivers are merciless" and drove another hour and half to get home myself. Matt, your quite the trooper making that trip all on your own, from what I understand it was well worth it. Good luck to you. Now back to waiting for the XMC-1 to release ;D Glad everyone made it home safely...

Ed and I had the best time, seeing the new stuff and meeting many wonderful individuals. Dan, Kathy, Mark, Matt, Porscehguy, Ansat, the great folks from Illinois and on and on and of course the great Roadrunner. Class people one and all. Everyone was actually nice, full of intelligent conversation and genuinely interested in what was going on. The well thought out tech day and party day meant we all got a taste of everything in a timely fashion without having to push or shove.
The downside of me was the realization that I did not need to purchase a UMC which was my original plan because the XMC just is soo cool it is worth the wait. YES I SAID WORTH THE WAIT. For me anyway. I am not sure I got a good feel for the sound because everything in the XMC rooms was new to me except the amps and the subs as I own those. But the speakers, room and everything else were new so any judgement of sound would be a guess. But I am on the band wagon. Not sure how they will get all that tact information in that black box but I am thinking the XMC is really a Tardis and everything inside is bigger when no one is looking.

My blog is updated. cave.hometheaterhifi.com/profiles/blogs/emofest-2012Great to meet so many of you lounge lizards. What a party! I can not compete with the great coverage done by some of you guys, but you can all enjoy my pictures... Funny, they had a sign on the XMC-1 "DO NOT TOUCH". I used the remote to do some switching of the inputs...technically, that was not touching, was it? Enjoy this taste of Nashville, everyone: youtu.be/oCrsSBN0q54

You do know that an XMC will be cheaper if you buy a UMC with upgrade card, right? Then you get to keep the UMC. All for less than just buying an XMC!

Our customers are why we are in business Janna, I'm sure I speak for everyone that attended this year, but your hard work leading up to EmoFest is very much appreciated and it definitely showed during the festivities. I for one am proud to be an Emotiva customer! Thank you and the rest of the Emotiva crew for a great time!

Emo - Ship a product when its feature complete and meets your QA bar. No sooner.
Take your post mortem that was done for the UMC-1, and I'm guessing some of I'm guessing that was on the list. ;-)
Not sure who would want to put up their $1500 or whatever for a pre/pro without solid room correction integrated. Probably about as basic as it gets. No half baked releases.
My money is waiting for you.

Jim, I'll admit I too did some remote use on the XMC-1 while no one was looking. ;D Thanks for your blog!
