Unboxing completed... got it in the rack... exactly fit into 5U rack.. The only issue is not having the right power.. need to figure out the weird power connector.... Links to complete unboxing and its journey onto my Media Rack. PR-SC5508will be driving this amp. XPA-3 will be used to bi-amp, fronts. Polk RTiA9 (left, right), CSia6(Center), FXi-A6 (two rows of surround L/Rs). plus.google.com/photos/104411919790007926688/albums/5762221719571840865?authkey=CKW-3tXQp9GjKgAttachments:

Any more pics?
You *can* (cautiously, qualified, not recommended, etc) use a power cord with a 15A regular straight bladed plug. Likely safe to do so for music or when you're not pushing it.
(.....hoping this doesn't turn this into another 15a/20a/250v debate)

The integrated handles are a very good idea. I'm sure FedEx is happy about that.
So...the box is nice. Did you get anything inside the box? ;D
I'll go ahead and let the police know you're gonna test it out. It'll save a phone call from the neighbors.

I am sorry, I have not posted picture before. It seems to be a pain regarding the file size and not having option to post multiple pictures at once. Am I missing something? I love to post pictures but it is painful. The XPR-5 is now in the rack.. looking beautiful .. not powered yet until I figure out the outlet it needs.. Attachments:

Sweet! Nice rack, ekdream! So how many beers did it take you to unpack, drag over, and install the amp? ;D Thanks for sharing the pictures with us.

Great pictures, thanks for posting them.
Is that a M/A Slim5 rack? Looks a lot like mine (going off trim piece on bottom).

If I plan to run two 20A circuits, 1 should be NEMA 6-20R (for the XPR-5) and the other can be a 5-20R (for traditional 3-prongs plugs to connect everything else.) Is that correct? Pictures for reference:

Did I call this in another thread or what??? You should be able to get a regular cord to work, but you won't be able to use the amp to its full potential.

You should bring that over to my house. I have a 220v plug in 5' from the audio rack that'll work just fine.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the difference between Nema 6-20 and Nema 5-20? They look exactly the same to me. Thanks for the pics ekdream. I LOVE living vicariously through the other members of the forum. As I looked at those pics, I could smell that new amp smell, and imagine all the sweat I would be dripping from lugging that thing around. ;D
