Ok, I have avoided this thread, to avoid any accidental spoilers until I saw the film. I just got home from seeing it in a digital XD theater and the sq was simply stunning...with one flaw. Bane's voice had so much reverb/efx on it, that it did make it difficult to understand what he was saying. The Sean Connery accent was great though. After the movie, I was saying funny stuff in a Bane/Sean Connery accent, and we were all getting some good laughs out of it! ;D IMO, the Dark Knight was one of the greatest action films ever, and I was anxious to see weather or not the new Batman would live up to it. I honestly feel that it did, and maybe even a bit more. I really, really liked TDK Rises. I thought Batman Begins was a setup/backstory movie that was well done, and created Nolans Batman universe. TDK was a continuation of the darker themed Batman, and was essentially a series of action set pieces. TDK Rises gave the Batman series a heart. It was more emotionally involving than the first two Nolan films. My only "gripe" with the trilogy as a whole was serious continuity issues regarding Gotham City. In Batman Begins, Gotham was a semi-futuristic looking city. In TDK, it was modern day Chicago, and in TDK Rises, it was NYC. Plus, where did Arkham Asylum go? It's not even mentioned in "Rises", and isn't that where The Scarecrow was supposed to be housed, or am I missing something? Either way, I still award TDK Rises an EASY 4/4 stars!

I thought the mockup court was part of the asylum since the scarecrow was the presiding judge there. Didn't look like one though. Gotham was always modeled after the big American cities especially NY. With Bane as the feared Terrorist, maybe it was a nod to NYC and 9/11?

I too saw this movie yesterday, and while I quite enjoyed it, I have the same questions as Paintedklown. Oh yeah, Bane's voice was annoying to me.

I saw it again tonight and enjoyed it even more, but partly because I was distracted at times the first time. I was in the middle of my wife and friend, and had to perform popcorn holding/sharing duties for both! Plus my buddy occasionally whispered comments to me like he wasn't quite into it. Anyway, an even bigger thumbs up.
