Don't fret too much. about your sub Can you just use a Y splitter? That's what I did. Split the left and right outputs of my Warpspeed LDR (actually it was the XDA-1 at the time) with rca y splitters, and then one L/R set went to the mmg's, one L/R set went to the sub.
The mmg's have very weak bass output in stock form so I think you'll find it to blend pretty easy for you.

I've been checking this thread every day to see if they came in. This could take the record for most posts between "I just ordered a new piece of gear" and "the new gear arrived today".
Mark: the wait is difficult for us so it must be killing you. Anticipation levels are through the roof. Best wishes. Gary

LOL! True...a lot of ground got covered here aside from new Maggies. But that's cool!
I am doing my best to be patient...tough! But, I made my new focus planning my nCore build. Details are over on audiocircle.com in the Hypex Owners Circle ("Show us your core-Ncore" thread...). Once I get further along, I will also start a thread here in the DIY section so Lounge members can see the project.
In addition to being the nCore amp modules and Hypex power supplies, I designed a custom case that is wall mounted with the amp module visible under smoked glass. It should be cool...not KraemerKid cool (I'm no machinist...), but KlineKid cool (if a 49 year old can be called a "kid"...).

mark I look forward to seeing your nCore build... I'm definitely thinking about following suit with my system. I hadn't thought of a wall mounted case, but that sounds like a really cool idea. I might get big props from (she who much be obeyed) if I mounted that and my xovers off the speakers, making it look cleaner. I could run 3-4' of double wires from the xovers to the speakers.

The wall mount idea popped into my head as I looked at some cases others were doing. One guy did a flat wooden plate that sits on the floor, with a wooden "fin" sticking up in the middle of it. The wiring and workings are hidden within channels in the wood. That got me thinking differently, and the idea of wall-mounted came to me. I think this will look cool. And, I also will only have a short run of wire from the wall to the speakers - and my power cables will be more hidden that my original plan (which was amps on pedestals behind the speakers).

I too, will be interested in your Ncore build. The buzz surrounding these amplifiers is unavoidable, and to see them compared directly to the XPA-2 will give me a nice idea of how they might sound against the XPA-1s. Additionally, all of us loungers will be able to get an up close and personal look at how difficult these are to build. Personally, I don't know the difference between a clothes iron and a soldering iron, but if you get to see it in pictures, the confusion/mystery can sometimes be taken away. Ok, so I was thinking about the Y cable idea to hook up my sub, and realized if I do that, then I will no longer have my sub hooked to my receivers sub outputs. Thus, I would be losing the LFE channel info when playing non stereo material. Oh well, I am going to try to avoid "sweating it" too much and just enjoy it for what it is. It's not going to be "forever" and the differences are subtle anyway. On a side note, the Ultra Sub that I grabbed from my storage went down last night. Now I need to go get the box out of storage, and call Emotiva for an RMA # to get it repaired...why does audio have to be so difficult a hobby. By the way Mark, did you receive your shipping confirmation and tracking number in an e-mail yet? I ordered my Maggies on 08/16/12, and today I have an e-mail with a tracking number (UPS) that says they will be delivered on Monday. I take it that Magnepan just happened to have the configuration I wanted in stock, otherwise they said it would have been 3-4 weeks for delivery.

I don't have any tracking info yet. I went through a local dealer who handled the order, so they have been providing me info. And frankly, I am not exactly happy with their level of info provided. The guy I worked with to date took today off, but when I checked in yesterday - he told me to call this other guy (Roger) today to check in. I did, and without even looking up anything he said, "oh I don't know, I would guess they should be here in a week or two." When I told him that the other guy had told me "this week", I seriously don't think he even has a clue on the status of my order and didn't appear to have any way to check.
I seriously hope the guy I have been working with had legit info when he told me late last week that they were supposed to arrive this week. I told them I want a firm update on Monday, and if I don't get one - I won't be too pleasant with them.
In fact, this weekend - I'll probably send a mild nasty-gram e-mail to my contact to make sure he knows I am not thrilled to light a fire under him to make sure he does what he can to at least get me real info. (They are closed on weekends, or I 'd call.)

Mark Yeah, with the 1.7s, they don't really have anything sticking out from behind. You might be able to create something that allowed them to pivot off the wall and be whatever distance they'd need to be from the side walls.

Yeah...the dealer just got an e-mail to that effect. It was not a rude e-mail at all, but they will know I am not thrilled with their "performance". I told them I expect to get a firm delivery date on Monday. At least now I know who they are in contact with at Magnepan, and if the dealer doesn't bother to get me the info Monday - I'll be able to directly talk to the person I need to talk to at Magnepan!

Mark, I hope your e-mail serves you well. It sounds like the customer service at your local shop isn't all that great. That's too bad, as unless you are getting the MMGs, then you have to deal with a dealer. Hopefully Magnepan will someday allow all of their models to be ordered directly from them. With the way the audio world is moving these days it may be a reality one day... RClark, I joined the Audiocircle forum as well, and am currently reading through your Magnestand thread. I see you are the one who posted my review over there. I am actually VERY glad that you did, as PG was able to address some of my direct concerns regarding the Maggies response/reaction to certain music types.

I have called Magnepan directly in the past and got right to Wendell Diller himself. Its a great company and you should feel free to call anytime. I had a complaint about the dealer I was going through and they took care of it post haste.

My dealer has until Monday until I do the "end around" to Magnepan themselves. Tick, tick, tick...

Nice BK. I think you'll really learn quite a lot on that forum, braniac city. There are some personalities though. I'll hip you to who's who.
my sub is already on the truck for delivery on Monday! (rubs hands)

Well, today brought a "Good news/bad news" situation.
Bad news...Magnepan did not even ship the speakers to my dealer last week but plans to "late this week". Also bad news, my dealer was so out of the loop that they didn't even know this until I forced them to call to get me an updated date. This means they likely won't arrive until sometime next week.
Good news...given my complaint in my e-mail to my dealer, they volunteered to give me 10% back off my purchase price. I can live with that!
Bottom line, I'm still waiting but a bit less out of pocket than I would have been.

Seems like a fair trade to me, 10% off is more money you can spend on something else while you're waiting for an extra week ;D

Looks like the guy who built my Warpspeed LDR for me is burning in a DODD inline tube buffer that I get to try out. First time hearing a tube "pre".
This hobby rules. Where else will you get people willing to let you try out their very expensive gear.
