Yes , no announcement as such taht I know off. But we had been teased with topics like improvements we like to DC-1. At one time the URL to DC-1 product page had DC-2 in the link text. So looks like 2 should follow 1 sooner or later as 1 been around for a year already. DC-1 is one hot selling Emotiva product. If it is not restocked soon then hopefully we hear good news of DC-2 arrival from Emo team.

Guys, if you look at the emopro section of the redesigned website, everything except the Control Freak is shown as being Out Of Stock -- all Airmotivs, both Stealths and the DC-1, which leads me to think this could be a site problem, not a real problem. Has anyone actually called them to see? If everything is really out of stock, did a boat sink?

Just got this response by Nick: "The DC-1 is actually in stock right now. it's just a hiccup on the website. Right now I have not been made aware of any plans for releasing a newer version of the DC-1. "

I finally broke down and ordered a DC-1. I received it yesterday and am really happy with it. I upgraded from the ODAC and it is definitely an improvement in all areas. The only thing I noticed is that there is a slight but noticeable ringing noise in the background. I switched the USB cable and tried plugging it into the USB hub but neither worked. When I changed the input on the DC-1 to synchronous it went away. Any ideas?

EDIT: Just read the manual and answered my question. Also how can you be happy with the product if there's a ringing?

I guess I should clarify, it's a slight ringing noise that isn't audible when I have the music turned up. The DAC overall sounds good, I only notice the ringing during quiet portions of songs. I will call Emo Support. Thanks for the responses!

I will call Emo Support. Thanks for the responses! It's like a computer buzzing sound right? Turn off the DC-1. PULL OUT THE PLUG FROM THE WALL. Wait ten seconds and reconnect. Now see if it reappears. If that doesn't fix it turn asynchronous mode (ASRC) to synchronous.

Ground loop issue ? I too have that hum/hiss with one of my laptops to DC-1 and another audio-gd dac. If I run the laptop via battery only, then the hiss reduces very much.
Might want to try a galvanic USB isolator

I'll finally be getting my DC-1. Thanks Nick. It will be replacing the Dangerous Music Source in a home theatre (more like stereo) setup. The reason being the Source doesn't have a remote and currently all the wires are running over my room and carpet. With the DC-1, I can move the unit on to a stand underneath the TV along with it's wires. Sound wise however, the DM Source is excellent. Both it's USB and AES input work to perfection. Hoping the DC-1 will fulfill that role well. I'll only be using the DC-1 for monitors and not headphones. The Source's headphone amplifier will be used primarily in another desktop setup.
I plan on getting a BDP-103 (not sure about Darbee, yet) for video processing and sending all the audio to the DC-1. Anyone here have experience with the BDP-103 + DC-1 combo?
Really hoping, I won't run into any noise issues on the inputs through my monitors.

No noise or problems. Works great and I really love the sound. Great investment IMHO Nick Edit: I do have a stand alone Darbee for TV and I would have paid the extra $100.00 for it on the Oppo had it been offered at the time of my purchase.

Thanks for the feedback Nick.
I have another question about the BDP-103 in terms of sound and video quality. Sorry if this is OT. I thought about asking here rather than joining more forums to ask a few questions. I figured I'd ask here as there are a lot of Oppo owners here.
Audio: How is the BDP-103's CD player as a transport? Currently I'm using the CD5004 but want to move it for another rig.
Video: I'll rarely be running any Blu-Ray or DVDs. I'll mostly be using it for files stores on hard drives, Netflix and processing my Macbook Pro's and PS3's (gaming) HDMI output for better video quality. Does the BDP-103 process all three of these and if so, how well? I do have a calibrated TV for my room and most video files are at least around 8-10 GBs.
I'm especially interested in how well it processes the HDMI inputs coming from PS3 and Macbook since they aren't being used natively to the Oppo, like the hard drives and Netflix which are connected and built into the Oppo respectively.
Thanks in advance.
