I’ve realized for a while that my home theater will never be done (I hope never). I previewed the MG20.7’s in an earlier post, but here is the whole theater. As for now, it is technically 9.2. My processor cannot run simultaneous Height and Wides, although I have the speakers and amps to run both at the same time. I am looking for an 11.2 (or greater) processor to replace my Integra DHC-80.1. Front view as it currently stands: Front consists of: Main left/right: Magnepan MG20.7’s driven by Krell 400e monoblocks. Waiting to hear what XPR-1’s can do. Center: Tri-center consisting of CCR, MMC2’s and a pair of Bag End subwoofers. Each driven by their own XPA-1. Height: MGSS1’s driven by XPA-1’s. They are suspended from the ceiling above the 20.7’s. To be replaced by MMC2’s. Wide: MG3.7’s driven by XPA-1’s. The wide angle lens distorts their position. LFE: Two JL Audio F112 subs. Processors: Integra DHC-80.1 and an XSP-1 (just added). Screen: Carada 2.40, 140” diagonal. Room is 18’ wide, 24’ long, 9’7” high (9’ in the back do to raised floor)

Very nice. Which Bag Ends are you using?

Your theater is flat out awesome. Love the color combos. I couldn't tell you what processor is out there to fit your needs but this should be featured on Emo's home page. Well done Any more pics with the lights on?

A very cool room and set up you have. I love the lighting you've put in too - quite effective!
(Check out the new Marantz AV8801 surround processor for driving all the channels you want...11.2).

Front racks: 3 XPA-1’s on the left, 3 more on the right, 1 in the center. Krell 400e’s left and right. DHC-80.1 and XSP-1 center. Furman SPR-20i voltage regulator and cable box on the right, Sony BluRay on the left. The Bag Ends are the S12E-I and the ELF-1 Integrator crossover. The subs and crossover are getting old (15+ years) and need to be replaced. Tricky photography as I do not have lighting directly on the components.

Back half of the theater. Yes, only two seats. I have a lot of control over the lighting. This mode accentuates the speakers and makes the walls disappear. I can do the inverse and highlight the walls only. I can turn on/off/fade each pair of speaker and room lights independently, remotely. The carpet is really deep red, not orange! The rear rack holds eight XPA-1’s (driving the three pairs of speakers shown), remote control equipment and a dbx crossover. The other blue lights are programmable thermal fan controllers (also some in the front rack). Extreme left/right are the Wide 3.7 speakers, also seen in the front picture as well. Side surrounds: MG3.7’s Back surrounds: MG3.5’s. I replaced the original external crossover with the dbx crossover, hence 4 XPA-1’s to drive the pair.

Better view of rear rack. The projector sits in a shelf suspended from a soffit in the ceiling. The shelf helps to deflect the projector fan noise. It also provides a place for the anamorphic lens in front of the projector. You can see the angled outline of the lens.

Those Infra subs should keep on chugging for as long as you want to use them. Good choice, by the way.

Those Infra subs should keep on chugging for as long as you want to use them. Good choice, by the way. Thanks, they served well all these years, but the ELF-1 has developed a mechanical buzz. I sent it in to Bag End and they sent it back as "all in spec". I tried different circuits and still buzzes. It buzzes even at the Dealer's store. AC conditioning did not affect it. In the mean time it is located in the equipment room behind the center channel speaker as to reduce the buzz spilling to the theater. They do not make the ELF-1 anymore and I need the crossover feature to do the Tri-Center splits. What they have now is not nearly as capable as the ELF-1. They popup on Ebay once and a while, but you never know what you get.

A side view of the rear rack and back surround speakers. The MG 3.5’s were originally light oak. I purchased the dark cherry stiles from Magnepan and replaced them myself. They look nearly identical to the 3.7’s and still sound very good. I think they have better bass response than the 3.7’s. All floor standing speakers have “stealth” Mye Stands.

Just beautiful. It's a perfect marriage of aesthetics, performance, and raw power. I'm sure I speak for many here when I say that I'd love to have two hours in that room. Thanks for sharing!

Great vision and taste in all aspects KR, what an amazing room and system. I'm sure it's been a lot of fun to build and it sounds like you'll keep playing as something comes to mind. Thanks for showing us you're masterpiece!

I love the clean lines, and color scheme none intrusive, just relaxing to what's on the screen.
Great job.

Now that is NICE. With all that effort, is there a reason you don't have at least one chair dead center?

One chair dead center and the other moved over a bit. Therefore the most important person (you) always gets dead center and you still get to sit next to somebody. Obviously it was a conscious decision as he seems to have planned it all out. I was wondering.
