V5 version of Proboards does have a block member feature. Go to anyone's profile in v5 and in the gearbox drop down, in the upper right, you can click Block. Or go to your own Profile, click Edit Profile, go to the Privacy tab and scroll down. Member Block List. You can also block users from sending you PMs.do this by viewing your inbox, and then clicking the "Preferences" button in the top right.in there, you will be able to enter in usernames of those you don't want to receive messages from. (you can do this now BTW) These two features alone will solve many problems here. Thanks very much Bootman. I just asked another member to please not send me any more PM's. He promptly sent me another PM. This is the answer to that problem. Great Info! PS: Only this last one quoted below worked OK. (Maybe I don't have V5 version of Proboards? ..... am I missing anything?) " You can also block users from sending you PMs.do this by viewing your inbox, and then clicking the "Preferences" button in the top right.in there, you will be able to enter in usernames of those you don't want to receive messages from. (you can do this now BTW)" Works,Thanks! That part will require an upgrade to this forum to V5. (or if it is already V5 that feature turned on!)

Thanks for commingt back Matt, I too am bothered by some here who think they are some kind of expert and dismiss someones idea or opinion as nonsense , if you don't agree fine don't make it personal , maybe you should not even respond . after all your life will not change if someone thinks something you don't.

Ultimately, this is a fun hobby for all and should not be so intense it takes the fun away. Passion is one thing, but like everything in our lives a balance needs to be achieved. I appreciate everyone's talent and thoughts here because it is what makes a forum work. It is healthy to disagree and have other ideas. I know I learn allot here and I hope many do too, but ultimately lets remember it is supposed to be fun! Enjoy and have a great time here!

I like and dislike the forum. The main reasons why I dislike this forum, is people not relaxing. It's a forum. Your avatar is not real. You have no authority here. You do not rule the world. We need to give impressions and reviews on gear, so others can learn and make smart decisions on future purchases. We need to be happy for other members. We need to offer help and encouragement to those that are stuck. We need to realize that one persons setup may or may not be as expensive as the next guys setup. We need to be patient for things. Remember good things come to people who wait. We need to not bash others because of their opinions. We need to be respectful of members hearing or not hearing differences in cables, bi amping etc....... Welcome back Kreamer, I second you 100%, I think it must be the spirit of all forum's

Hi Matt, and glad you're back! (I for one DID notice you'd left, and I especially notice when a fellow Minnesotan 'goes missing'!). Yes, they are a few members (that will remain nameless...), that can cause most of the trouble here on this forum, but we need to just ignore/not respond to them. In any case, the vast majority here are fine people, and many are also knowledgeable and helpful enthusiasts - and we all just need to keep that relativity in perspective. Anyway, and again - I'm glad you're back!

Hi again Matt. Good to see you on here, not to mentioned it was great meeting you and your spinning creation at Emofest. Funny, I did not hear any arguments at the fest, when everyone spoke in person. I agree that we can all learn something from the good folks here.

It goes both ways though. It's not worth loosing sleep over what someone says on a forum lol
Everyone has to admit, although Matt makes great points, it's never going to be like it was in the beginning of the forum again. You have to take the good with the bad and understand that it will never be what someone wants it to be (there are way to many people). Just have to suck it up and deal.

Welcome back, Matt. I enjoy reading your posts and viewing your photos.
Did you give up on black anodized for gold plating? ...or am I misunderstanding your post? Either way, I am anxious to see how they turned out.

Either way, I am anxious to see how they turned out. I am doing gold on these plates (XSP-1, XDA-1 and XPA-1's) to add some spice Today I took a look at one of the plates to approve the color, it's looking pretty sweet. I was worried it would be a yellow gold but it wasn't, more of a brown tinted gold. Easier on the eyes ;D

Some people get way too sensitive over the silliest things sometimes and could use this advice, myself included.

Good to have you back Matt, I have read post myself and asked, why?, but in the end you have to remember, 1-Don't sweat the small stuff because in the end, it's all small stuff and 2-The only person that we really control is ourselves and we have to let the foolishness of others dissipate!!! Some times the best answer to foolishness is no answer at all. Looking forward to seeing your new plates!!!

Matt,I'm glad to see you back.As I stated in another thread I had noticed that you hadn't been around but I did not know why.
I hear what you are saying about things sometimes shifting into the negative side and I don't care for that either.Fortunately I think that the positives still outweigh the negatives.I get a lot out of this place so I keep coming back.
As for the negative stuff, well there will always be a bit of that as long as we have humans involved. But if we all just put a little effort into it we could cut it way down. Sometimes reading what you are about to post and thinking about how it may come across to others can lead to a slight rewording that can make all the difference in the world.Other times I think it may be best to just stay silent and let a thread gone bad die off rather than add fuel to the fire.
I hope next time that you or anyone else gets disgusted by something that you will consider walking away, but from that negative thread only, not from the whole place. We need good people here to contribute positively.

I agree with you Darryl, you get both sides of the coin here. The DIY section will see a lot of traffic from me My favorite!

This has a been a good week so far. I regained my senses and re joined. My Dayton Audio Omni Mic V2 sound measuring system is sitting at my house waiting for my to open. Purchased a cheap laptop on ebay to use with the mic. My gold face plates are coming to me Friday.
