Every time we bring up tubes, I fondly remember going into the local pharmacy to use the tube tester. Ahhh, those were the days.

I think you may be a Bob Carver stalker. But, if you are truly his friend, please leave him alone so he can work his magic for Jade Design. Thanks in advance - I'm looking for some affordable cutting edge products from him and that does not include the silliness of granite encased tube amps.

Folks, please let's remain on topic.
We've much to be excited about with Bob Carver and Dan Laufman joining forces. This can only be good for us, the consumers.

Though I have never been a tube guy myself, I'm open to giving them a try again. I'm highly intrigued to see what Big Dan & Company can do with an integrated design.
Oh yeah "eltwo", I also remember the tube testers in my local Super X growing up.

Remember Radio Shack lifetime tubes? Tubes have been making a come back. Even Samsung puts tubes into some of their products. Mind you I see this more as gimmick marketing.
The broadening of Emotiva's lineup with the acquisition of Carver will be welcomed by enthusiasts like me. I interested though on how the warranty for tube equipment will be handled?
The other interesting direction, which seems counter-intuitive based on recent technological development, is that Emotiva has gone retro by adding tubes, instead of going forward with smaller and lighter class D amp technology. Time will tell, if this was really a good decision.

Just 1 or 2 years ago, who would've thought Emotiva would get into tube technology? One never knows!

Great news, I need like a $50k loan so I can afford this gear. First to offer gets a free emotiva hat!

I hope to learn a lot about tubes. This is the extent of my tube gear up to now.

I'm not so sure that they're mutually exclusive. I can foresee a integrated amplifier using a tube preamp and a class-D power amp having serious sales potential...

Wow, how did I miss this? Great news! I'm a great admirer of Mr. Carver's work, one of the most "down to earth" audio engineers out there and always willing to share with and educate others.
I'd been guessing that there was some sort of Emo/Carver connection for a while now as they've been using his signal follower circuits for years.
