I agree with the above:
-Change from ProBoards to another type - i.e. vBulletin, phpBB, etc. -Fix the search function -Add photo upload -Ask the Pros/Ask Emotiva section
And, change the color to "Emotiva Blue" instead of this steel blue/aqua/turquoise/teal.

Members (and non-members), If you could change ONE THING about this forum (note I didn't say Emotiva) what would it be? It could be as simple as the look to something as complicated as the back end, but it can only be one thing. Please list what ONE THING you would change, why you think the change is important and what you believe the change will mean to other users and the overall experience here on the forum. Thank you! -Andrew We need a better search engine. There is a wealth of information available here but it can be very difficult to find. I agree. The information to answer many a question is already here but it can be very difficult to find it.A better search engine would benefit all but more so people new to Emotiva and it's products searching for answers.

Change the way pics are added to allow jpegs etc not URL's If you mean adding pictures that you have stored on your computer that is already possible.Click the quote button on a post or the reply button at the bottom of the thread (not the quick reply option),then up at the top of that page you will see a "choose file" button.Click it and make your selection.I added a pic as an example. Although most all of our questions are answered by other forum members when we ask them, it would be nice to get answers from the "pros" at Emotiva. Have a section called "Ask the Pros" or something similar. The section might only relate to Emotiva equipment to keep the # of questions down or maybe there are other parameters. I think it would be interesting because although most of us think we know the answers, and many times we are correct, many of our comments are opinions and sometimes those opinions are just that-opinions and not necessarily right or truth or based on facts!!! ;D But you can already contact Emotiva directly by phone, email,or fax through the main Emotiva home page.Do we really need to have a full time presence here as well?Keith does a pretty darn good job of answering stuff,Dan and Lonnie drop by on occasion, and now we have Andrew with us as well. Don't get me wrong,I am not against it at all,I just wonder if it would be an unnecessary burden added to Emo to have to have someone available full time just to answer questions.

Dump Pro Boards and set up the forum using something like vBulletin. Hang some place that really sucks for a while and suddenly Pro Boards will seem like a dream. I still hang with a group over at Yahoo because of the people but man,you talk about cave man primitive.

That's true, but you can only do one pic per post and someone has to click on it to see it full-size (which in some cases is good, for instances in which someone links to a picture that is 5,000 pixels wide). It would be nice to be able to upload more than one picture to a single post and show them at their normal size.

Sorry to post again, but bring back pics/info of Vintage Emo Gear I have said it before and I will say it again, please do this.Particularly as a newbie I found the old retired gear pages to be most helpful. This would probably be my second request behind a decent search engine.

Yeah I don't know why they limit you to adding one pic per post that way. There must be some reasoning behind it but I don't know what it is. For adding multiple pics I always did the Photobucket thing but it does require extra steps although I never found it much trouble.

Right, but that only allows one at a time (and of low resolution to boot!). How about allowing up to five at a crack, and of higher rez too? (The URL link thing is a real hassle...).

Enlighten me! Where is the setting? Well, you must first bookmark a thread, then when you go to your profile select bookmarks then manage bookmarks. For PM notifications, go to messages then select preferences. Thanks Geebo!

If people want to suggest improvements to Proboards, it is probably better to tell proboards directly, and/or get Emotiva to push to leave.
That being said, search is super easy. Just use the site: tool in google search:
Much better and faster.

I'll throw in another vote for dumping ProBoards. This software would've been considered garbage even 10 years ago. My preferred choice would be Google Groups.

The google site search works well but even with a good search engine, lots of good stuff is missing between 2007-2009 after G-Day. Proboards can be setup to do what you want assuming you know what you are doing. Some examples: deadwalking.boards.net/#from-within.proboards.com/sincityhaven.proboards.com/index.cgiJust to name a few examples on what can be done. (I'm not vouching for any of the content just the potential of proboards) ...and I do like vBulletin btw. BTW what version of proboards is this site running? V5 gives access to admins access to the HTML and CSS code. If you can program, you can pretty much make the board dance.

Multi-quote would be nice.
Edit: And yes, I realize this can be done manually. I'm referring specifically to a multi-quote feature.
