Perhaps a switch to vBulletin would cure those ailments...

One other thing came to mind. And this isn't so much a Lounge thing as a promo thing for Emo. I think it would be cool to have a "Post of the Month" award where Emo would award some swag for the best post of each month. This could be a simple as a t-shirt, a hat, 10 EmoBucks, trim pieces, or maybe a set of interconnects.
And then perhaps have a Post of the Year award with a nicer prize - maybe a set of their smallest speakers (XRM-4.1s?), perhaps a Mini-X amp, or a CMX-6, or maybe 200 in EmoBucks?? This might lead to better, more thoughtful posts and is just another way to show their fans that this is a company that really cares about them.
-RW- I'm jes' sayin'....

That would be a great PR move! Andrew can take all the credit for it. He is new here and should get a bone.

I've kept my mouth shut on the use of Proboards since I'm not paying for it - BUT YOU DID ASK!
Either Proboards needs to enable 3 letter searches (think XPA, UPA, UMC, XDA, USP, XSP, ERD, ERT, XRM, X-Ref - etc etc) or Emotiva needs to add one letter to all past present and future models. A search with any of those product models will kick back with a message: "An Error Has Occurred - Your search terms must each be 4 or more characters long."

My thing I would change to the lounge is criteria for the Emporium. To me the Emporium should be for loyal members only. A personal pet peeve of mine is the fly by nighters. They post to the Emporium and then are never heard from again or the people that are just here to sell and not interact. It is my feeling the primary purpose of the lounge is to discuss various topics from Emotiva to anything within reason and should the need occur to sell or buy gear you have the option to then do so in the Emporium.
I'm not sure on method of enforcement though. I do like how in the Polk Audio forum. I think there is a minimum of posts before one can buy or sell from their classifieds. Maybe if you haven't posted in awhile you would have to make meaningful posts before you could sell again? I'm not sure but that is a pet peeve of mine when it comes to the Emporium. Thanks

Nice idea, truly, but I had a similar idea only I took it to 11 and am getting the okay to run with it fully. Details coming soon, or after I follow up on all the other suggestions. Seriously, I think you all will like this new initiative.

Andrew, I do expect some swag from you for this <g>!! I could *really* use some black trim pieces for my UMC-1 - nudge, nudge, wink, wink....

Give Hemster a Promotion, a Pay Raise, a life time supply of bananas and rolling papers, and anything else he wants. He is the hardest working Chimpanzee here.

So a while back it was announced that the Emotiva site (or ProBoards in general) would be upgraded between the end of April and the end of May. Was the upgrade ever performed and did anything change?

problem with changing platforms from proboards (as they host it) to something else preferably inhouse on the emo server is that the existing threads and posts would be lost forever as I doubt there is a migration utility from here to wherever.
The search is quite useless...I dont even bother any more...unless its less 7 days old

Wow
At first I thought I was at the wrong place. This is going to take some getting used to.
I see that everyone who was using a "house" avatar is now getting a nondescript filler. Several of us use custom avatars and work fine, but if you were using one of the "house" avatars, you'll need to log onto your "Profile" setting and choose a new one.

New forum software BLOWS. Functionality = gone. I know people think change is good...but this is not so much. Not quite a Win 8 change but.....(As an aside, been running Win 8 for 2 weeks and had to search Google-sphere to figure out how to print from the pdf veiwer). Why are menus obsolete?

I think it will get cleaned up and adjusted and will be better in the end. I hope. Just a few growing pains for now.

I'm willing to give the new (not necessarily improved) format a go, but we lost the single most useful link "New Topics". I don't have nearly enough time to scroll trhu every single forum looking for new posts. PLEASE BRING THIS FEATURE BACK!!
