Star Trek 2 or the "this is so not wrath of khan" remake was amazing! I really enjoyed it. I will rent it when it comes out.

Visually and aurally, ST Into Darkness was very good. But, the story sucked IMO. I'm going to buy it for my library, but, just like the first one, probably will not watch it all that often.

This was fantastic, my wife and I loved it and I've been counting down the days for it to come out on Blu. The sound was great at the IMAX theater and should be even better in a good HT room! Great movie as well and I for one liked the plot/story to boot. Super Stoked for tomorrow!

Went by Redbox last night and it wasn't in the machine yet and said it was per the website lol, but I bet the sound and visuals will be outstanding.

Looking forward to the sound for sure. I'm not sure it's going to beat the train wreck scene in Super 8 for the "holy sh*t" factor, but it was great in the IMAX theater.

Got the steel book with spaceship thing at Walmart today. I'll sell the spaceship to some collector for at least 15-20 and keep the steelbook

Although I liked this movie, I found the analogs to "The Wrath of Khan" too frequent both in terms of characters and events.
Being a complete re-boot via its new altered timeline with no need for any continuity, I wish they would let it stand more on its own.

I felt it lacked some of the magic/creativity of "Star Trek (2009)", but I just decided to order from Amazon. I'll buy anything for the sound track! I agree with Chucks comments... I don't think that many people care too much about the Star Trek II references... Doesn't really contribute anything. I thought Star Trek was a little more fun to watch.

I agree with your comments on the 2009 movie. I do like Into Darkness primarily because of the development of the Kirk/Spock relationship. The best thing about this new series is that they've recreated the triad of Kirk/Spock/Bones very well. This is something I would have bet money on wouldn't be successful. On an aside, I think one of the best parts of Wrath of Kahn" were the battle scenes between Kirk/Kahn - ship to ship! Historically, this was a direct steal from an original series episode called "Balance of Terror" which I think was absolutely the best episode in the original series. All the different series have missed this point. What a trekkie wants is a Star Trek movie that is sort of a rip-off of "Midway" - people involved in an epic battle.

Personally I have only seen the trailer in #D that showed with The Hobbit release here in Singapore anyway.
I read reviews that it was and I quote "like the office in space" so I assume the story line is quite pathetic...but no doubt we will buy it if reniting on iTunes makes it worthwhile...otherwise a rental is going to be it for me.

Well I saw it twice in the theatre and liked it a lot, the characters and the references to TOS and II were fun. Benedict Cumberbatch makes a great Sherlock, and then shines as the antagonist here as well.
