Well all 3 albums made it into the Billboard Top 10 album charts, simultaneously. That doesn't happen everyday.

I received the regular CD's the other day, and I got notice the Zep 1 super deluxe box has shipped. So it's only the 3 deluxe vinyls I am waiting on also. Strange. I ordered Led Zeppelin II deluxe vinyl last Thursday from Soundstagedirect and recieved a message the next day that due to very high demand they had to wait for a repressing and could not give me an estimate when they would have it in stock again. Of course they offered the option to refund my money or to just wait. I chose to wait. Just recieved an email my Led Zeppelin II deluxe vinyl has shipped. Surprised the crap out of me. I was expecting more of a delay.

Sorry guys, life has been a roller coaster of late. Between work then vacation and now back to work I've not had anytime for much fun. I have only gotten to listen to the Hi-rez on DVD-A L-PCM so far, once through on each disc, and I have to say I thought they sounded the best I've ever heard Zeppelin. But I'd really like to sit down and do some detailed listening to do some comparisons. Pull out the old stuff and the new stuff, CD's vs hi-rez etc and really figure it out. But alas, no time. Back in April or May I would have had lots of time. All of a sudden I'm booked with stuff. Only cool thing going on stereo wise is my new racks. Can't wait to get them all done and set up. Looking good so far. But trust me, when I get the chance I'll chime in. In the mean time perhaps some others coudl report. By the way, I do finally have all my stash, all 15 items worth. Took Amazon almost a month, but I do have everything in house. To tell you how busy I've been, the only thing I've opened so far is ONE Super Deluxe Box set.

Oh and one more thing from a vinyl junkie friend of mine. According to him on his system, the vinyl and hi-rez are nearly indistinguishable. If anything he said the hi-rez has a bit more high end mid range that he wasn't sure he liked, but this could also be attributed to his Oppo 83-SE and it's DAC.

Hope their as good as the first three!! I'm expecting no less in terms of SQ. As for the extras, I guess we'll see. Track wise, on the bonus discs, is all alternates takes. ultimateclassicrock.com/led-zeppelin-iv-houses-reissues/?utm_source=sailthru&utm_medium=referralLed Zeppelin has released the track listings for the next two projects in its well-received album-by-album reissue campaign, ‘IV’ and ‘Houses of the Holy.’ As with ‘I-III,’ each will again be offered in deluxe editions with a bonus disc of unreleased material as well as a “Super Deluxe” box set edition.Additional audio for the 23-times platinum ‘IV’ includes alternate mixes of ‘Misty Mountain Hop,’ ‘Four Sticks,’ ‘The Battle Of Evermore,’ ‘Going To California’ and, most notably, ‘Stairway To Heaven.’ The 11-million-selling follow up ‘Houses of the Holy,’ meanwhile, will feature seven unreleased tracks on the companion audio disc — including rough and working mixes for ‘The Ocean’ and ‘Dancing Days,’ a guitar mix backing track for ‘Over The Hills And Far Away’ and a version of ‘The Rain Song’ without piano. Complete track listings for both are below.‘IV’ and ‘Houses of the Holy,’ due on October 28 via Atlantic/Swan Song, will again be available in a variety of formats. Those ! choices include single disc (without the bonus audio) and two-disc deluxe editions, as well as single vinyl and two-LP deluxe edition vinyl, digital downloads and a super deluxe box set that includes the remastered album, bonus disc, remastered vinyl, high-def audio download, hard-bound 80-page book and album-cover print.Jimmy Page again personally oversaw the remastering process, and collected each reissue’s unreleased material. The earlier sets devoted to ‘I-III’ each debuted in the Billboard Top 10 in June.Complete Track Listing for the New Led Zeppelin Reissues:Led Zeppelin ‘IV’ IV Companion Audio Disc 1. ‘Black Dog’ (basic track with guitar overdubs) 2. ‘Rock and Roll’ (alternate mix) 3. ‘The Battle of Evermore’ (mandolin/guitar mix from Headley Grange) 4. ‘Stairway to Heaven’ (Sunset Sound mix) 5. ‘Misty Mountain Hop’ (alternate mix) 6. ‘Four Sticks’ (alternate mix) 7. ‘Going to California’ (mandolin/guitar mix) 8. ‘When the Levee Breaks’ (alternate UK mix) HOTH Companion Audio Disc1. ‘The Song Remains the Same’ (guitar overdub reference mix) 2. ‘The Rain Song’ (mix minus piano) 3. ‘Over The Hills and Far Away’ (guitar mix backing track) 4. ‘The Crunge’ (rough mix; keys up) 5. ‘Dancing Days’ (rough mix with vocal) 6. ‘No Quarter’ (rough mix with John Paul Jones keyboard overdubs; no vocal) 7. ‘The Ocean’ (working mix)

I will get the single discs this time around. The extra discs will not be that much different than the originals and doesn't really bring anything new and exciting to make it worthwhile.

I think what we need (well, I do anyway) is the definitive must have list, I've got so many copies, vinyl, CD's, DVD's BD's, bootleg versions etc. I just don't know which way to jump right now, the budget won't allow the "buy everything" method, so I need to narrow it down. Say an album by album list, with a recommendation (opinion) as to which version sounds the best (should make for an interesting debate as well). For example; Led Zeppelin - the original vinyl is still the best Led Zeppelin II - the hi rez version is the best so far Led Zeppelin III - Led Zeppelin IV - Houses of the Holy - Physical Graffiti - Presence - In Through the Out Door - Coda - The Song Remains the Same - BBC Sessions - How the West Was Won - Celebration Day - gotta have the BD version etc Cheers Gary

Wow. Here's a new one for me. Cool insider video by Jason.
Actually, the night that show took place and it was broadcast I was at a high school graduation party and wanted to hear it desperately, but the rest of the party folks were not so interested at the time. I remember being very depressed at the party due to a girl, Andrea, and it/she consumed me at the time. Since then it’s gotten lost in my memory, and every time I think to look it up, I never get to it. Perhaps one of those unconsciously forgotten memories done by my brain on purpose? She hurt me bad; worst ever to that point. Honestly, I’ve never heard the set they did or seen any video for it. I guess I should go looking eh? Or maybe not.
