I was on another thread and it got me to thinking, I can't recall anyone on this forum really talking about Led Zeppelin.
#1. I was just curious if there are many fans here?
#2. More importantly, I was wondering what people might be wishing for in regards to the new upcoming re-remasters being released soon? (Actual date TBD) We already know there will be extras, both audio and video, according to Jimmy himself. What those will be exactly are up for speculation, and I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Music and video wise I'd like to see just about anything. What I'm concerned about myself, being a Zep collector, is that we'll get too much in the way of release versions. Celebration Day was released in so many versions it was absurd. Just in the U.S. alone there were like 10 versions. It cost me a small fortune just to do that (I also bought a Japanese CD which totally sucked sound quality wise - all CD masterings are not created equal). I'm hoping they keep the actual release editions to a minimum myself. Like CD, Blu-ray and Vinyl. But I'm sure that's wishful thinking. There will probably also be DVD and some sort of collectors edition. As long as there isn't a bunch of CD&DVD and CD&Blu-ray packaging crosstalk it shouldn't be too bad. Again, I guess we'll have to wait and see. I was just wondering what other people's opinions are.
Cheers --- Bonzo

Yes Zep fan here. Never a giant fan but a definite fan. I enjoy Plant's vocals.

Just want to say I love me some Zep! I have the complete studio box set that replaced the long box remasters from the 90's and the sound quality is just ok. Hopefully they will put out a blu ray pure audio disc and put some life into the recordings. I listened the houses of the holy the other night and remember thinking how blah and flat it sounded.

I was never fond of Zeps. A hoagie without the tomato, what is with that?
Led Zeppelin on the other hand, yes I am a fan.

When all are one and one is all To be a rock and not to roll.
...and my favorite
Been dazed and confused for so long it's not true.
But as to the OP's post about collectors, Zep fans are pretty close behind Pink Floyd fans when it comes to different collections.

I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, have many good memories. I never gave much thought though to your questions. I would be interested too see something similar to the beatles. Original studio recordings/ remasterd. One of my favorite songs is Gallows Pole.

I enjoy LZ when I am in the mood to rock out. I have some of the British vinyl, and those sound pretty good to me! I also picked up the Mothership box which was really quite nice. Sadly, it got hit by the flood here in Nashville before I could rip the whole thing. Having seen the power of steam in cleaning records over at Mikey Fremer's website, I have a date with a steam machine and my vacuum cleaner next weekend to try to undue the damage.

I am Lead Zeppelin fan, I still have my original vinyl, plus CD's and BD's. But unlike Pink Floyd, who's recent re-releases have superb sound, I've yet to find a really good quality Zep release. They are all missing something, not the same thing, but something's just not there in every release that I have heard.
My favourite; Ah, ah, We come from the land of the ice and snow, From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.
For the guitar heads, John Paul Jones on a Fender Precision Bass is a given, but is Jimmy Page playing his Gibson Les Paul or his Fender Telecaster?
Cheers Gary

Big fan here...Bonzo was one of my main influences when I started drumming. Jimmy Page's part in It Might Get Loud is awesome. Great to hear his thoughts on guitar, music, etc. Celebration Day is amazing. I bought the Deluxe Edition - 2 CD/1 Blu-ray/1 DVD Digipak version. In addition to numerous CDs, including the 1990 box set, and The Song Remains the Same on DVD, I have a very early copy of Led Zeppelin IV on CD: So yeah...call me a big fan. I am very interested in the forthcoming releases. C

I'm a Led Zep fan too, and would LOVE to see their catalog remastered on Blu-ray audio, (that format would be MY preference). Same with The Beatles - Blu-ray audio baby! I've got 'Celebration Day' which is excellent, and the Blu-ray audio version of that concert is GREAT!

I've got 'Celebration Day' which is excellent, and the Blu-ray audio version of that concert is GREAT! I've also got 'Celebration Day' on Blu-ray and it is the best audio in my LedZep collection. But, maybe my problem is I have heard them play live, on the 27th February 1972 at the Sydney Showground. None of the recorded material I have heard to date sounds as good, not even close. It's not memory, well I don't believe that it is, as I had their vinyl at the time and it didn't sound as good as live. I played them many times the day before and the days after. I still have that vinyl and the digital stuff released since isn't a lot better. Pink Floyd's studio recordings walk all over them, so maybe they didn't get their studio sound as good as their live performance. Cheers Gary

I well remember the winter of '68-'69 when the 1st album came out. I along with 2 friends had put together pretty good systems for our age and the limited money we had. We were absolutely blown away with what we thought was a totally new sound, not knowing that it was re-packaged Blues from our own country with a British twist. Boy it was great to be 17 in '69!
I bought the Page mastered box set a couple of years ago. Not sure if I'd jump on a BR release unless it got fabulous reviews.
