Sorry to say I am disappointed with my first spin of houses. Maybe I got a bad copy but I had a significant amount of semblance on the first track on each side and the ocean just sounded horrible. All the other tracks sounded great! I played five other albums before hand and didn't have any problems. Will have to wait a couple days to see if they get more copies to switch one out.

Either way, great deal!!, ENJOY,!! I noticed at Best Buy that they had IV and Houses in Deluxe and single CD yesterday. They look like the recent re-releases of I, II, III but there was no real indicator that they were the 2014 versions just the same language as milsap195 posted. Prices were $16.99 and $10.99 respectively. Did everyone jump the gun? I held off to see what is going on and maybe to catch a sale around Christmas.

Yesterday I received an e-mail saying my order was delayed, and it would not arrive until Mon - Wed next week. I pre-ordered three months in advance. I don't think so. I cancelled the order, and went to Best Buy. They priced matched Amazon so I went ahead and picked up the deluxe cds for IV, and HOTH. I was originally only going to get the single discs but the LZ fanboy in me succumbed for the two disc version when I saw them in BB. Both IV and HOTH sound excellent. The companion discs are okay. Little change here and there but still it would have been better throwing in more live tracks from shows during the album era.

Indy, they are the new ones if they have a sticker with Remastered & Produced by Jimmy Page on them.

Listened to both LPs (single vinyl editions) last night and did some comparisons this evening. To me, they are both quite a bit better than the older vinyl and CD versions I have. They are similar to the first 3 vinyl remasters - more clarity (especially cymbals), better separation/sense of place and improved bass/drums.
To me HOTH benefits more than IV, partly because I think the original recording/mastering seems of better quality (so more to work with), and partly because there is more acoustic/quiet/sparse moments as well as additional orchestration compared to IV.
The standouts on IV for me were The Battle of Evermore, Going to California, and When the Levee Breaks - the cymbals to me are dead on, and the drums are also very well-defined and simply sound more real and present.
HOTH is solid all they way through, but for me, The Rain Song, No Quarter, and The Ocean stood out as benefiting the most from the remaster.
All in all, I'm very pleased with these 2 remasters on vinyl (as I was with the first 3). And the LPs are flat, and very quiet.
These will be staying in my vinyl rotation for a while. I haven't enjoyed Zeppelin this much in a loooong time!

Here's the big hubbaloo interview from this week in New York for Jimmy's new book (the new "el cheapo" version of his original Genesis publication one that sold for over $600) 92yondemand.org/jimmy-page-jeff-koons/ Regarding the HOTH vinyl, it appears there is a known pressing issue (pressed in Germany for the U.S. markets) that effects the last half of The Ocean with distortion. People are being asked to contact the record label directly, from what I've heard at least. And this issue is supposedly only for vinyl. Also, Jimmy will be on David Letterman Thursday 11/6, and Ellen Degeneris (SP?) Tuesday 11/11 so set your DVR's. Sorry I've been too busy in my personal life to be on the forum for a bit. Otherwise I'd be more on top of this.

OK I finally got my Led Zeppelin LP Atlanta Jimmy Page Remastered Set. I want to like this alot for what I paid for it. But I have mixed reviews. The album art is great. The 180 gram weight is better than the original. Now the critical listening. Well the pin point seperation of the cymbals from the drums betters the original LP. Please note I only have 1, II,III and IV to compare to this remastered version. They are in excellent as new condition. The bass seems more muffled than the original. The volume level to reach the same level with a db meter is about 10 more clicks on the UMC200. 52 to 64 average from old lp to new remastered. All in all I am glad I have the set but disappointed in the new compaired to the old. Buy the CD

The 1 LP remastered 180 gram version of Led Zeppelin 1,2,3 and 4 that are sold separately. Front covers have the original art. The best sound of the four is #2. The worst is #3

Glad to hear that I was not the only one who had trouble with HOH. Are we supposed to send Atlantic an email or do we call? Honestly I'm not sure because I have not had time in my personal life right now to get to the details. All I do know so far is people have contacted the sellers (like Amazon etc) even contacted the German company who pressed the U.S. market vinyl (forget the name at the moment), and they have been told to contact the record label directly. You really have to wonder what's going to happen here. A recall? A reshipment? Either way it's an epic fail. Jimmy Page always seems to be plagued with these sort of things no matter what it is.
