I am new to this forum and thought I should say hello to all especially fellow Buckeyes and Deadheads. I've been an audiogeek for over 25 years, and have been impressed by the Emotiva fan base. I've had a decent all tube system for many years, but recently switched to full solid state - except for my tube headphone amp... I couldn't completely let go I guess...
I have always been more interested in 2 channel stereo...and has been loving vinyl even when it wasn't trendy.... Haha !
Just bought a pair of xpa-1l's, (arriving tomorrow!) and working my way towards a full 2 channel system.
I am married with 2 daughters ages 8 and 6 and devote most of my time and effort to my family - I travel quite a bit as well, but in my limited down time, I am an full fledged audiogeek.
I live in a rural setting, outside of Mechanicsburg, OH - a very small one traffic light community.
I'm always up for interesting discussions and enjoy learning about anything music related.... Hello to all !!!!

Welcome! There can be something satisfying about tubes, except when you have to run down to the store to test them ( ) So, is being a Buckeye and a Deadhead the same as being a Deadeye?

Hi Bigmule,
I'm from Michigan, but welcome all the same! This forum gives us the opportunity to argue about something other than favorite sports teams.....
Cheers!

Welcome bigmule! Fellow Ohioan and fellow Deadhead! I'm down near Cinci...actually closer to Oxford (where Miami of Ohio is, to those who are not familiar with Ohio). And, I have to go about 7 miles in any direction to even get to a stoplight.
Mark (PS to bonzo...didn't know you were near Dayton. What part?)

Didn't know you were one of those Miami of Ohio / Oxford snobs!!! We hit your area sometimes while visiting Houston Woods. It's a bit out of the way for normal visiting.

bigmule, welcome to the lounge ! Pull up a chair and enjoy ! congrats on the XPA-1l's, Please post a review of your impressions of them and enjoy ! Thank you for the welcome! - the amps just arrived today, and unfortunately I am out of town working in Chicago for the next 5 days, so it will likely be after Christmas before I actually am able to listen to them as we will have guests (....in laws...are they really guests....?) all that week as well. I am curious to hear the difference between these and the Denon integrated - I have been very impressed with the Denon, but looking for a little more oomph... I will post a review of them ASAP -

Thank you for the welcome! I agree about tubes being special - I have learned that I actually enjoy tubes more vinyl and headphones than with speakers..just seems more intimate...if that makes sense... I guess being a Deadeye is a little better than being a Buckhead....lol

Welcome to the Lounge and congrats on the new gear! Thanks Geebo - Looks like you have a great Emotiva system put together....I'm hoping to obtain a XSP-1 as well....I just wish they were available??? .so is the coffee cup a system tweak or considered an acoustical room treatment?....Regards,

Bonzo...we don't qualify with those Oxford types. We're south of them down in lovely Okeana...out in God's country.

From Dayton area here, and also a Deadhead. Welcome. Where did you get your 804's? Hi Bonzo - thanks for the welcome. I went to the 94 show at Buckeye Lake.. maybe we went to the same show...? what a night..... You might remember me, I was the one with long hair, goatee, and wearing a tie-dye.... Kind of a cool story with Nautilus 804's, back in the late 90's my wife and I used to work at a small hi-fi/mid-fi shop in Michigan, called The Stereo Shoppe - they had 5 or 6 stores....anyways they are all closed down now I believe...so kind of cool because my wife (girlfriend back then) actually bought them for her system, I'm not sure how the business works now, but then we were able to buy equipment at accomodation, which was usually 50% or more off retail...I'm not sure how we really afforded it back then...oh, I remember...no kids, no mortgage, no car payments, etc, etc..... So to summarize, I am blessed with a wife that enjoys this stuff as well...makes it easier living with me...lol.
