Last week, I started getting the following error every time I turn on my UMC-200:
Error! OSD Flash
Not Match!
It eventually goes away, but the HDMI never syncs or starts working so I get no picture on my Panasonic ST60. If I turn it off and back on, error goes away and everything works fine.
Anybody seen this? Would reloading the firmware fix the problem? I am on V1.52.02.39.

While I would call tech support to be 100% sure, I think reflashing should fix this.

There's a very good chance that reloading the firmware will fix it... and you have a good excuse to update to v.47 Last week, I started getting the following error every time I turn on my UMC-200:
Error! OSD Flash
Not Match!
It eventually goes away, but the HDMI never syncs or starts working so I get no picture on my Panasonic ST60. If I turn it off and back on, error goes away and everything works fine.

Updated to v.47 earlier today. So far so good.
Keith, thanks for getting me out of the Loading Loop

Sorry to bring up such and old thread but I'm having the exact same problem with my UMC-200. When I first purchased it I had a professional manual calibration done where the PEQ was specifically configured for my room - will I lose this if I upgrade software or reflash?
Thanks!

Take pen and paper and note it down and reenter it.
I always do this just in case...

I just started having this issue now -- weak HDMI and no audio regardless of input (HDMI, optical, RCA, FM tuner). I do not normally see the "Error! OSD Flash Not Match!" error when turning the UMC-200 on and off -- but when I left it unplugged for 24 hours to really deplete it electrically, I did see it show up once when I plugged it back in, but then I don't see it on subsequent power cycles, but the problems (incorrect HDMI negotiation, no audio) are still there.
Do I still need to reload the firmware? It doesn't make a lot of sense to be because I'm not sure how the firmware could get corrupted so that it remembers all the settings but forgets how to handshake HDMI and process audio. Also, the first post said that his worked fine whenever he didn't get the flash error (where mine still has the problems when I don't get flash error).
I'm dreading having to redo all my settings after a firmware upload, but if it fixes the problem, it will be worth it. I'm running v47 now, is it a "no brainer" to upload the newer v52? I can't find any release notes to know the difference between firmware versions -- would be great if v52 has something that prevents recurrence of this problem.

I've got this issue now, too. Just started. How do I "flash" this unit? I'm on a Mac, I imagine that will cause issues. Any advice?

1. There are a few possible causes of this issue... so it would be a good idea to check the power supply. 2. The software you need to use to reflash the UMC-200 WILL NOT run on an Apple computer... It needs Windows 7 or Windows 10 (and may or may not run on Windows 11). ------------------------------------ You can find the firmware and updater here: emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/53402/latest-release-umc-200-firmware----------------------------------- And, if it looks like a hardware issue, you can find more details here: (This also shows the test points and voltages for the power supply) Replacement capacitors for UMC-200 power supply W e are no longer servicing the UMC-200. However the most common reason for which they fail is a fault in the power supply. This is almost always the cause if the unit refuses to remain on and "drops back into standby". It is also a common cause for other problems. This can often be solved by replacing three capacitors in the power supply. The pictures at this link will show the values and locations for the capacitors to change. www.dropbox.com/sh/5knm9i7ny1abhti/AABmnPYBvosfI-b-30o4NJrfa?dl=0(The following links show one possible source for suitable replacement parts.) www.amazon.com/pcs-Panasonic-FM-Capacitors-1000uf/dp/B073YQSVZYwww.amazon.com/pcs-Panasonic-FM-Capacitors-330uf/dp/B073YQJWPLwww.amazon.com/pcs-Panasonic-FR-Capacitors-Ultra/dp/B072ST8MK4N OTE: THERE ARE DANGEROUS VOLTAGES INSIDE THE UNIT. Be sure to unplug it and allow the power supply to drain for 30 minutes before servicing. DO NOT do this yourself unless you are qualified to repair electronic equipment. N OTE: BE SURE TO USE CAPACITORS RATED FOR 105C TEMPERATURE. N OTE: CAREFULLY OBSERVE POLARITY WHEN REPLACING ELECTROLYTIC CAPACITORS. I've got this issue now, too. Just started. How do I "flash" this unit? I'm on a Mac, I imagine that will cause issues. Any advice?

I don’t want a jinx but my unit is used daily every day! Great unit. No worries (and no jinx) lol. ….. The nature of some of those internal components that can and do fail…. Can work fine for 30 years or better or failing six months, simply a crapshoot.
