I still think all white/light aluminum with Emotiva Blue lettering. Very Audio Research... [/quote] Definately ; reminds me of some proceed kit ; would contrast better with blue lettering

Personally, I think the cursive font adds a touch of class to the looks of the XMC-1, but I don't think most people will even be aware of it since the size of the font is so small that you would almost have to be within arms reach to even notice it. Maybe I am an oddball but I have never paid attention to the type of font used on any of the components in my rack. I am a real stickler when it comes to sound quality and use-ability, but the type of font on my gear is of such low importance that I never notice it. When a piece of equipment sounds as good as Emotiva's product line I would buy it even if I hated the font used on the front panel. It never occurred to me that anyone would be influenced by the font type.

Man you all are picky. Really how many people go and look at your audio gear when you have company. Not a single soul from my side. This is a harmless thread but much ado about nothing really. Unfair for you to say this, because we all know everyone at your house is busy looking at those big beautiful 802's!!! Too bad we can't all be so fortunate. 802's are sweet looking speakers. Seriously, you make a good point. Zero people in my company of friends care. When I put new stainless steel spikes on my speakers absolutely no one noticed. Even after I pointed them out to my wife she just shrugged her shoulders. Here I was so proud of them..... Back on track..... I actually like the cursive touch. I have also always really liked the modern EMOTIVA logo. They blend surprisingly well together (unlike Pioneer's childish newish logo they adopted in the 90's). I also love the look of Gen 1 equipment with the black face & real metal silver trim (I like mechanical looking things). I'm glad silver trim will be available for Gen 2 stuff because, while nice, I don't like it as well. And believe it or not, I do like the look of the blue lights. I have been very critical of them in other threads, and I still am. My only problem with past equipment is that they were so blindingly bright. In a dark home theater room you could almost read a book by them from 10 feet away!! Things are changing on the newer equipment and lights are becoming "dim-able." As long as there is a SUPER dim setting or better yet, OFF, then I'm good. Cheers --- Bonzo

The direct TV guy thought they looked like a spaceship. It is pretty funny really.

The b&w 802 are very unique looking. They have been my favorite for years but I never was able to get them since they keep raising the price. And yes, no one cares about the cursive font on the pre/pro..they can't even see it from beyond a few feet. But they do comment on speakers and the big old amp. Now if they have an optional the faceplate to match my XPR-5...that would be a meaningful change and it might get more XPR owners to jump on it...prior to upgrading to the RMC-1 . And give them more time to work on the RMC-1...since that'll be the final stop.

I completely forgot I started this thread hahaha, glad to see it elicited such emotional responses.
Either way, I'm on the waiting list for the XMC-1, and I've been there for over 2 years. My number one priority is audio quality and a smooth bug-free experience. If those two are achieved, the cursive font certainly won't sway my purchase decision.
I just thought I'd voice my opinion on the matter, and maybe sway some design decisions. Looks like Big Dan isn't having any of it.

I'm ok with the font but would hope the XMC-1 uses a volume knob like the XSP-1.
