Hi Dan and crew,
Please,I beg you, rethink that cursive inscription on the face of the XMC-1 that says 'Differential Reference Media Controller'
I can't be the only one that thinks it's a bad idea.
Clean and simple is beautiful

And I must disagree vehemently. While I like a conservative look myself, I think that the cursive moniker is great and adds to the allure of the unit. Lastly, it matches well with other 'Differential Reference' gear that one might have in the A/V rack.

Agreed, I like the cursive. It matches my XSP-1 and XPA-1L amps. I do have an XDA-2 also but that's in the bedroom now. Besides, considering that the XMC-1 is scheduled to ship in just over a month, I think it is too late to change the design.

I have to say I like it too. It adds a touch of class. But that's me.

I am not keen on the ye olde lettering, but I don't care as long as I can have the XMC-1 in April or so...

It doesn't matter to me either way. How about a white faceplate with Emotiva Blue lettering? C

the writing that's barely visible is not too bad compared to that volume knob.
A sleek machined knob w/ the same finish as the faceplate would look classier imho. Or some other design...but overall, it's fine for me.

While appearances are nice, what matters is how it sounds.

I too like the differential text on all of the differential gear. It sort of lets the gear "speak for its self" and adds a nice touch IMO.

But the cursive font looks so nice beneath the the turquoise display. By the way, is the XMC-1 going to be programmable in Italian?

Since the XMC-1 is being redesigned with Gen2 styling perhaps the cursive writing will be in the darker black on black "Gen 2" color. That way, everyone wins.

No matter what, it's still not as classy as the front of the 7030.

I can't see any of the writing from where I sit, so I'm OK however they do it.

Having an XSP-1 & XDA-2, I'm happy with the differential reference 'signature'.

I don't mind the text, but don't like the cursive script. It reminds me of Victoria Secret...
