OK, Ladies - We know that new subs are on the way. Some questions that immediately occur to me are:
1. Will these be munchkin-cubes ala Bob Carver design?
2. Will these have microprocessor controlled room correction built in?
3. Will these be primarily HT or music subs? (ported or sealed, in a nutshell...)
4. How many new models?
5. What driver sizes?
6. What price ranges?
7. When will they be available?
Since Emotiva's gotten smart enough not to provide these answers themselves (lest they be wrong & get flamed), it's our solemn duty and obligation to speculate!
The first prediction that I'll make (and I think it's a safe one despite not being to my taste) is that the damn things will all be BLACK! LOL
Make your best guesses. Winners will receive personal abuse from Chuckienut whose comments are suitable for framing!

The only thing I will speculate on is that they will be sealed.
Dave.

I can tell you that they will be subwoofers. Been playing around and testing a few of the designs. There is one design in particular I'm extremely excited about.

I hope they go big with these. Would love a 15" with a large enclosure and 1000+ watts to shake the room. I'd love to see something to rival the Submersives.

Sealed. Two sizes: 10" (possibly 9" with long-excursion surround) and 12" Active: built-in amp. Includes gain, x-over freq and phase settings. Woofer aimed at the floor. Finish to match the upcoming Emotiva passive column speakers. No room correction for HT (to keep cost down). Less than $450 each (12"), and $300 each (10").
(Future HT (ported) models will have room EQ, designed in tandem with current/future AirMotiv. This series to include 15" model.)

We got a picture at Emofest of a crude 18" prototype.
Not saying they will come to market with one, but check the emofest pix in the green room to see it.

They want to wow ME? Here's my specs:
15" sealed box with lots of amp A switch on the amp to select either deep extension or maximum loudness Flat sides & corners without chamfering (allows me to recover the ugly black beast with some veneer easily) < $700 price
I could buy two 15" sealed subs from Parts-Express for the same $$, but I'd have to put them together myself & I'm getting lazy. Of course, a 18" dreadnaught would also be tempting...
Go, Emo!

I think that a 15" in a small enclosure with a good dsp (ideally with some easy way to do room correction, I'm ok if it's a separate program that tells me what to set a parametric eq to.) and I'd really like flat to 20hz. Not relying on the room for that lower extension.

Did the earlier Emotive subs have a variable phase control or just a 0/180 switch? I'm looking for a new sub for a friend and am looking for something with variable phase control.

Maybe you should do a "Day In The Life of Boomzilla" thread to fill us all in on what goes on when you are not testing equipment or making wires or pondering every possible question about subwoofers there is. Keep up the good work man. Black yes. But what I'm counting on is a million watt blinding blue ring of light going around the cone that pulses with the beat. Think Kia Soul speaker lights on steroids.

Yeah, the Emo design team DOES get twerky when blue lights are involved. I can take or leave them.

Did the earlier Emotive subs have a variable phase control or just a 0/180 switch? I'm looking for a new sub for a friend and am looking for something with variable phase control. The variable phase is an IMPORTANT feature, IMHO. The 0/180-degree switch is totally inadequate. With the variable phase, you can dial in the best match between sub and satellites. Note, though, that unless the subwoofer is equidistant from BOTH satellites, you'll never have an exact phase match. When the sub is in perfect phase with the nearer speaker, it will be slightly out of phase with the farther one. The only way to get that perfect phase match is either to use a single sub directly between the speakers or to use two subs, one proximate to each speaker.
