Huh? Not reply to your posts? Wow man, paranoid much? So you start a conversation but don't want to continue it, eh? Then perhaps you shouldn't start them.

And like I keep telling you Chuck, that's because that's how ELF designs that operate below the fs of the driver work. It's physics. You are apparently are educated but seem know little about HT sub enclosures. I have quoted many expert sources including sub manufacturers that confirm that the larger enclosure subs are superior in low end output, extension and lower distortion. You have failed to answer my quotes except to say those experts have their heads up there asses, nice guy! I really don't appreciate your condescending replies to my posts. Just give it up Mr. Yohn. I don't want any of your arrogant lectures on sub physics in response to my posts. Give your PC lectures and physics lectures to other members but not me. You are not the only one here that is educated. I was an Engineering and Mathematics major and have a Mensa level IQ. I don't have all the answers but I am not one of your students have backed up my claims about subs with quotes and facts and not smart ass comments as above and "I told you before." I have blocked you from sending me any more PM's. I have asked you before not to reply to my posts. I consider it harassment. I now ask that the Moderators to please ask you not to reply to my posts. I will reply to none of yours once you quit doing so. Fair enough?
Chuckienut You crack me up, Chuck. And not because you are being funny. Perhaps if you would keep a level head and engage in a conversation, we could both learn something. But then again, perhaps not.

Chuck's right - the smaller the sub enclosure, the more powerful the amp that's needed to get half-way decent output from it (like with the Definitive Technology subs...). Bigger enclosures can produce higher SPLs with smaller amps driving those larger woofers.

There is more than one way to skin the cat of subwoofer SPL, and enclosure size by itself means nothing.

I now ask that the Moderators please ask DYohn not to reply to my posts. I will reply to none of his once he quits doing so. Fair enough? You know Chuck, I really wish I could PM you because it would be nice to know what your problem with me is and perhaps work out whatever is bothering you, but oh well. Have a great life. And by the way I intend to continue participating in whatever thread I choose, so if you post something that I feel I'd like to respond to I'm sorry but I will. Feel free to do the same because this is, wow, a forum.

Gentlemen, please steer clear of each other as the "raised voice" is quite deafening. Respect and civility really do go a long way in the "agreeing to disagree" department. Thanks for your cooperation.

my smart a$$ness aside .. what i do not like about small supper compact make a honda crx look like station waggon subwoofers is buy the time you add the hi power motor and surround to a 6" speaker you got 1" of cone left .. i am a big fan of big power and big subs ..just to get the kind of bass i like i had make my car audio work inside ... was cheaper then some of these home audio supper sub,s out there sounds just as good .
