They tend to ship in two boxes or use very sturdy styrofoam. Basically when it arrives, usually the packaging is pretty messed up but the unit itself arrives okay.

Fortunately I've only had 'damage' in one of the many packages I've received. In the box for my Ultra-10 the styrofoam molding was split but there was no damage to the subwoofer.
Double-boxing really does help protect the contents but in the end, it's a bit of a crapshoot with the courier company's staff handling the boxes.

Of the many facets of business that Emotiva excels at, customer service is one of the best. If by rare chance something does go awry, I have full confidence that Emotiva will remedy to your satisfaction.. I've had two 100 + lb packages arrive unscathed.

I watched as two XPA-1s were dropped to the ground from the truck. The bands popped and outter box damaged. I made some comments to the driver who replied that he guessed that I was one of those people that made cliams. I really don't think there was anything broken but EMO replaced them anyway.

So he purposefully dropped a heavy box at an unsafe distance and then chastized you for it. Incredible.

No damage, but I was at home a few weeks ago when the UPS driver delivered my XPA-2. He basically tossed it as hard as he could and it landed with a huge thump on my front porch. I went outside and told him that I hope it was not damaged, and that I saw him throw it up on the porch. He did not seam to care much and said it would be fine. But he sure did not treat the package as I thought it should have been handled. My XPA-2 arrived with a big hole in the side, through both boxes. I could see the black cloth covering the amp! I would NOT be able to use this box to ship it back if I had to, and I'm one hub away from Tennessee! Fortunately no damage to the unit though, but they sure tried. UPS does NOT care about any packages!! And the heavier or more fragile it seems to be, the worse they treat it!!

These are pictures of my second XPA-2 (first one went back due to damage from gouges on side panels of amp)...The second one shown in these pictures (after the UPS driver rolled it end to end down the steps of the truck) was falling apart! Box handles torn off exposing the amp. This is with next day shipping from Emo. kept this one even though the top cover was dented outwards....It works perfectly. Never had this problem when they used FedEx.

Never had this problem when they used FedEx. As a Fedex employee, thanks for the statement. As an Emotiva customer, 9 Emotiva components, never any damage. To the OP, buy what your heart desires. On the rare occurance you experience shipping damage, call Emotiva, THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!.

So far I've had 4 XPA's delivered to Australia (plus a UMC-1, USP-1, UMC-200, Airmotive 4's and an ERC-3) all units arrived OK. Two of them had minor damage to the outer boxes but not inner boxes or the units themselves.
Cheers Gary

Hi, I ordered 3 amps this January. 2 XPA-2s, 1 XPA-1L all arrived via UPS. Outer box was a little beat up but inner box and amps were untouched. All arrived within 3 days of order processing. Living that close make a road trip and have them set out for will call!!
Enjoy!!

This is unheard of! Just reading this pissed me off that someone would be so ignorant to just drop ANY package of weight to the ground. My UPS driver dragged both XPA1's to the back of the truck and carried them to my front door some 30'. Gasping for breath I might ad....lol He asked me what we're in the boxes and I told him...his reply was that he hoped I did not get these things on a weekly basis. There was a gash on one of the boxes but just the outside box. No physical damage to the amp. The funny thing is I did have a small problem with both amps and had to ship them back. That same UPS driver had to re-deliver new amps to my house two weeks later....haha... A side note here Emotiva came thru with very good customer service. I was and am 100% satisfied.

The biggest damage in shipping you should expect is your back if you don't lift properly!

Even if Emotiva made <20lb class D amps we would have stories of shipping damage. Now where are those <20lb class D amps?

Had 7 shipments from Emotiva all without a problem. I also think that I'm fortunate in that regard because of some of the bad shipments I've had in the past.
Our UPS and FedEx guys are awesome though. Like, come up to the door and ask you about your kids and tells you what his little ones are up to. Very cool and unusual. Scott
