I hate to tell you, but you failed the test. You failed to show all of your work.
Without all the math, we can't know how you came up with those percentages!!!
And we expect the math out to 2 decimal places next time. No rounding.

Peace, Nick OK Nick, a warning first is just fine with me and they now seem to be using that. However, I think a straight ban is also fine for those who have gone way overboard. The in your face attitude I'm talking about here as way overboard is the way some folks like to think it is their constitutional right to trash Emo products and Admin. Here's the very clear warning at the top of each forum section: Gentlepersons
The Emotiva Lounge is intended to be a place to hang out and relax with other audio-video enthusiasts and friends! We view it as a social and educational portal, and an extension of Emotiva Audio. This is a private forum owned and operated by Emotiva Audio.
The great majority of our visitors and members conduct themselves with good manners and are welcome in our virtual home. However, as in all communities, we have a few individuals whose behavior spoils it for everyone else.
I've had several long time members come to me privately and ask what can be done to restore the good natured and pleasant vibe we have worked so hard to create and maintain. They feel, as I do , that we are drifting toward a place that none of us want to go to.... So, here goes:
This is not a street corner. You are not exercising constitutionally guaranteed free speech here; we DO NOT have to listen to, and endure, bad behavior. This is not a G8 summit!
In order to make your visit as pleasant and constructive as possible, please take a moment to read the following guidelines. I like to think of these as the 11 commandments for happy lounge living! ;D
1. Please keep the discussion focused. Topics outside the scope of a given thread may be moved, locked, or simply deleted at our discretion. For off topic subjects, please use the Green Room.
2. Please use the search function before posting; your question may have been previously answered.
3. Be nice to each other and respect the moderators. Profanity, insults, knocking other brands, and generally rude behavior will not be tolerated. Period. Opinions are welcome, not bad behavior.
4. If you have a problem with another member, please turn to a moderator for help.
5. Do not spam. Also, we do not tolerate blatant advertising. Telling your buddies about a great product is one thing, but this is not a store front for another brand.
6. No cross posting. Please post your message once to the appropriate forum and nowhere else.
7. Use a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention.
8. Multiple registrations are prohibited and are grounds for immediate account deletion.
9. Please read the Emporium rules before advertising gear in the Emporium.
10. Instructions from the moderator team are to be followed. Period.
11. Discussion and opinions are welcome, but we must insist on civility. It’s really simple: Treat others as you would wish them to treat you.
This is a meeting place for hobbyists and friends to share their knowledge, their passion, AND opinions. But, remember, it’s supposed to be FUN and CIVIL!
Remember, a frown is just a smile upside down!! Corny, uh?
Now, go forth and sin no more.
Thank you,
Big Dan, the Emotiva staff, and your hard working VOLUNTEER moderators

Ok,,,,,and your point? Not the first time I've seen or read that.
Have I done something that I may have missed? If so, please PM me or just state it here?? Am I missing something? Am I rabbit going down a hole?

hey hey hey! How about them redskins! LOL, look in all seriousness, we all can agree on the premise of AVR vs power amps. Lets build on that and make that OTHER site obsolete. We are all in the same camp, lets share the water. Thanks Novi, Chuckie, Dan and everyone else for letting me in here. This is the island of the last intelligence on Earth.

AVS is no different than here. There is one important difference IMO. The Emotiva lounge is a dedicated site. That doesn't mean constructive criticism is not allowed. However, there are certain members who seem to have an agenda to point out negatives in their opinion about Emo products in many posts and threads. Once is OK but repeated negative posts can get them banned, justifiably so IMO. I think Polk speakers are generally very good speakers but not great. I might make a comment or so about them in a respectful manner at their forum, but if I push it I would expect to be banned. The same would go for The Outlaw Saloon. I own one of their subs and like it very much. However, if I went there and repeatedly complained about their pre-pro being delayed or cancelled I would expect to get the boot. One knows ahead of time what the Nikon forum is about so why go there and repeatedly promote Canon and trash Nikon. If one doesn't like a certain product or any of the products in a particular brand's dedicated forum, then why not make a polite constructive criticism and let it go or just flat stay away from that site if you can't stand their products. Worse yet is to come to the Lounge and insult and criticise the CEO and VP/CTO of Emotiva until the horse is certifiably dead! That is the height of poor manners. I don't always agree 100% (closer to 98%) with Big Dan and/or Lonnie but that goes for Bill Gates (51%) and Pete Carroll (99.9%) too. However, Emotiva has provided me with far more pride, joy and great value in my systems than any other audio/HT brand. No other brand is even close since my first purchase in 1969. The XPA-3 is a jewel of an amp! The alpha victor sam forum reminds me in so many ways of the Jerry Springer Show. alpha victor sam forum.. that's my line chuckie... anti power nut bars..

Am I rabbit going down a hole? Respectfully! Nick You seemed to imply that I was for bans without warning, I suppose that is since I didn't mention a warning in my post. My mistake for not being more clear. As I now clarified above, a warning first is just fine with me. So it seems we now agree? NO? I continued and went one step further to say that in a few cases the extra nasty posts are so obnoxious that I think a straight ban is just fine. Perhaps you disagree and that is fine. I simply quoted the rules for the Lounge. I perceive from your post you are not so happy with the rules or me posting them. I think you don't get my differentiation between the plain audio/HT forum and a dedicated one like the Lounge. Maybe you disagree and that is fine, but to me there is a big difference. I think the request for civil and polite posts here is more serious than at the other general forums. No you have done nothing that you might have missed. I only responded to your comment about a ban without a warning, is that OK? BTW, PM's are not for continuing an argument "out back" if that is what you have in mind.

However, in the Yanks Army I don't think it was exactly alpha, victor and sam?

Nope, no worries and no problems. Just a huge misunderstanding,,,wow, I'm not argumentative at all and never looking for one. What a silly mess,,,,, Not looking to take it elsewhere either.
I've seen one rude guy in here that was banned later then I thought he should have. This forum is very tolerant of opinions and I do enjoy that fact. Yes, ban the heck out of someone that is down rite mean spirited and deserving and always follow the rules,,,,as I've seen somewhere around here,,,,,,,,hemster comes to mind,,,,,he,,,,,he,,,,,,
I pray this ends any misunderstanding I / we had.
Peace,
Nick

Too bad about your experience on AVS. Don't know the whole story, but it seems a little hasty. I want people to share their experiences and opinions here on the Lounge. I don't care what they talk about product wise. You like another product? Cool. We're not worried. We welcome comparison. If some guys think their AVR is all they need, well that's fine. Maybe it fits their needs and their budget. Some people do not like to feel like their decisions and opinions are being challenged. They get angry and defensive. Maybe that's the core of the issue there... All you have to do here is be civil and respectful... opinionated is fine. No taunting!! Clearly they have not heard a system with real headroom. Headroom is what having big amps is all about; not playing as loud is you can stand it! I'm thinking about doing a tech article on this very subject. I'd like to show how a typical "brand X" receiver behaves in a real world situation with typical speakers in an average listen room. You will be amazed to see how quickly you can run out of gas. I can drive an XPA-5 into mild clip quite easily with the right type of program material, so imagine what a receiver that makes less than half of its rated power with all channels drive will do. Headroom is all about clarity, resolution and maintaining dynamics. You will be amazed at how much more you can hear when your system is not pushed to it's dynamic limits. power wise. Stand by... In the meantime, have fun kids! Cheers, Big Dan I can attest to this and look forward to the article. I'm sort of a newbe to high end audio. When I hooked up my XPA-5 to my Denon receiver there was a instant and very noticeable difference. When playing one of my regular test BD's which is the start of The Incredibles which I play a lot when making changes to the system, there is a spot with some running water in the background that we had never heard before and it was so clear my wife got up and went into the bathroom to see if it was the sink. This was with the Denon turn up to about -10, so not quiet, but not reference either. It was just so much cleared with the added power. I have noticed improvement with every upgrade I've done except the DAC, with that I really couldn't hear a difference when testing.
