Sorry, Audio..... Red Flag combination of dimensions. Long and Wide are exactly 2x......this is problematic. And the height is almost the same as width......which MIGHT be an issue....
40 feet is maybe 25 to 30hz......a VERY nice place for movie / music low end.....
It would help, a little, perhaps if oppostie walls were NOT parallel (couple degrees off would do) and certian other features were 'built in' at time people were driving nails......

I've decided why I HATE mowing grass. In two weeks (or even one, at this time of year), it's like you never did it at all. I like to do something once and move on to other things (except for a few specific things... ). I'd just hire someone else to do the lawn, but my wife is freaked out about the economy and thinks we're going to end up homeless. Doesn't want me to spend a penny on anything that's not absolutely essential. So I've got Louisiana heat, a big yard, and a small mower. Bah Humbug!

Treat it as a form of (choose one) Regular exercise. Therapy. Meditation. And if you mow at some REALLY awful hour (after dark? 0300) A cheap way to annoy the neighbors...... Me? I stopped WATERING everything but the hedges. (on a low output soaker) and my few fruit trees......

Since my current yard is pretty large, I normally cut on three different days. Front yard, middle yard, back yard, and on the fourth day, I contemplate whether edging, weed-eating, and blowing are worth the sunburn they’ll cause (they usually aren’t).
On top of that, I’ve got LOTS of hedges that are prone to being overrun with weeds. Takes a week or two to pull out the vines, and then (in about another month) they’re all back again!
My theory is that if I can’t round-up it or mow it, it’s not worth having. Oh well…

They have some excellent robotic lawnmowers A robotic mower would work as well in my cluttered yard as my Roomba works in my cluttered house (I spend more time rescuing the stuck Roomba than it does vacuuming).

IMO? Lawns are mostly a waste of water and a holdover from a bygone era when such ostentation was somehow either necessary of just accepted. California is going on 40 Million residents and the colorado river is dropping like a rock. Lake Mead is becoming a pond..... www.cnn.com/2022/05/26/us/lake-mead-water-level-low-projection-climate/index.htmlthe 'white' is an Epic Bathtub Ring.......Overflows haven't been even approached in decades. Here in SoCal we have Palm Springs / Palm Desert / Indio and a few other hell-holes where summer temps can crest 120f = 49c The 'record' may exceed 130f....... Golf is the #1 'sport' of the retired. The whole valley is built on a huge aquifer which took 10s of thousands of years to accumulate. HOT springs are a treasure. Some reach a potential 150f.....OUCH! But watering golf courses 6x daily is a WASTE. My idiot (otherwise) brother in law bought a house in (IIRC) La Quinta.....FIRST thing he did was rip out the lawn, install sand and cactus and a couple pieces of wagon wheel and a cows head with horns. All predictible, but TOTALLY opposite of the neighbors who wanted LAWN. Idiots. Within hours of the divorce? the new Idiot Owners were DIGGING UP that wonderful sustainable yard. My brother in law also converted the pool to sustainable (no Chlorine!) Salt Water. WONDERFUL pool and no Red-Eye......Even the DOGS would just jump right in.......

I'm with your BIL, leonski - were it up to me, I'd install gravel. The only plants in my yard that I consider useful are my ligustrums and sweet viburnums. They provide about a 15' to 25' tall windbreak that lifts hurricane gusts over the top of my roof. The last bad one we had, almost ALL my neighbors had roof damage, but I had none (despite having a 40-year-old roof) because of the shrubs. The sweet viburnums are a bit soft, and a lot of them broke, so if I had it to do over again, it'd be all ligustrums. The only other thing I'd like to have in the yard is a set of lightning rods that would prevent strikes on the house itself. But I probably don't need them in my current house. Taller trees on the neighbors' yards are serving the same purpose. Once we move, though, no telling what I'll have (or not). Tell your BIL that they make some great bird statues that his neighbors might like! LOL

Nothing like mowing the yard. Aah, the smell of gas fumes, screaming motor, teeth rattling ride, 90+ heat and the weirdest thoughts that come out of nowhere. Enjoy the Zen.
The local (illegal) lawn mowers have raised the cost/mow from $65 per acre to $85 here.

His original wife and mother of his two girls? Nice looking Latina...... He DID know how to make a neat yard. But when he moved his GIGANTIC all-wheel drive military vehicle into his drive in La Quinta, the neighbors said ENOUGH.....

Phone service question:
Years ago, I signed up with Verizon, and am still with them (due to inertia).
I have a monthly data allowance that I never use, but this month, my cable service died and I had to use some phone data. Verizon gleefully informs me that I’ve exceeded my data plan and am currently up to $30 in overage charges!
This irritates me. Every month I pay them for data that I don’t use, but the one time I need it, it’s $30. I know that that’s the contract I signed, so I’ll pay them - but I’m now looking for a better provider.
Suggestions?

Suggestions? My wife and I use T-Mobile. If you're over 55 they have good plans. Ours is 2 lines unlimited calls, texts and data for $60/month including all taxes and fees, fixed for the life of the account. www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/unlimited-55-senior-discount-plans?INTNAV=tNav:Plans:UnlimitedAge55

Suggestions? Happened to me one time as well. I made a call and told them that very reasoning. They erased the charge and they kept a customer. If you try this let us know as times, they are a charging.
