The "estimated delivery date" is today, 2/10. We'll see... Well then you'll have a baby (a big one) on your doorstep today.

Hi Pop - Yes, I have a tracking #. It says "On truck for delivery next business day." My previous experience with FedEx Ground, though, is that they DON'T deliver on Monday here. We'll see... It's coming buddy! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Ground does NOT deliver on Monday. So sorry! Nick

It's coming buddy! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Ground does NOT deliver on Monday. So sorry! Nick Nick, all of my business packages come on Monday. They most certainly DO deliver on Monday. Maybe this is geographically confined? If fedex did not deliver on Monday (a business day) why would anyone ship with them? and why would they deliver on Saturday but not Monday? Why would Fedex estimate delivery on Monday if they don't deliver on Monday. Nick, do you live out of the states?

Pop, Nick is right. In SOME places, but not all, FedEx Ground delivers Tuesday through Saturday. I've encountered this before here in Baton Rouge, LA. FedEx DOES deliver on Mondays, but not always those packages shipped specifically "FedEx Ground." I asked the clerk at the UPS store, where I receive mail, whether or not I might expect that Ground shipment today. He said he didn't know - sometimes yes, sometimes no. Ground shipments ARE delivered Tuesday through Saturday, but only sometimes on Monday.

Sorry Fedex has deemed you not worth of delivery on Mondays. Doesn't PSA ship UPS?

Look it up pop, I live in the states but (Fedex home ground ) which all my deliveries from Emotiva have been shipped , delivers Tues through Sat, this is not regular Fedex,,,,,I promise. I ran all over town one day full of frustration trying to get my gear and finally found this bit of info. I sure would like for him to take delivery today. I have no idea why??? Nick

There are insufficient words in the English language to truly express how awesomely CRAPPY PCs are. I use the adjective "awesomely" in it's traditional sense - inspiring of awe. I'm waiting on my 1.5-week-old Toshiba laptop to download a frigging printer driver, and I'm staring at a blank browser screen for over five minutes now. Before that, I had to close a half-dozen other browser windows trying to sell me junk that I don't want, don't need, and don't even want to see.
The laptop has slowed to a crawl, won't even go to the sites you type into the browser, and now hangs repeatedly.
1.5 weeks old! Don't tell me I'm not running AV software either! I paid for and had remotely configured the FULL, PREMIUM version of AVG first thing after I brought the machine home.
Yes, if you're a Windows whiz, you can make the OS jump. But for a person who just wants to do work - not master a lame, friggin' OS, this is a POS.
There's a reason that Apple is now the largest company in the world. Their stuff works - which is more than I can say for this Win-8 abomination.
And no, pop, I haven't even turned the sub on yet. I'm still fighting the POS music server computer!

So, it is there? that's all that matters. When you purchase a laptop you need to have it reformatted to get all the bloatware off of it. While you are going to reformat, might as well just throw a SSD (solid state drive) in there. Single best upgrade you can do for a computer, hands down. Anyone that argues this has never experienced the lightning fast speeds of one.

OK - Laptop is finally functioning (partially - I never did get the right printer driver installed). Nevertheless, JRiver is working.
Now, however, I'm getting NO output from the SW output on the Oppo!? I double checked all the settings - Front R&L are set to "Small" and the Sub is "On" in the Oppo setup. All trims are set to zero. With the sub on "auto" there isn't enough signal (if any) to even turn on the sub. When I turn the sub on manually & crank up the music still NO bass at all from the sub.
The sub's own crossover is set to its highest frequency (so that the (Oppo) source can handle bass management). The sub's volume pot is cranked up to 50% plus. So far as I can tell, the main speakers are being rolled off below 80 Hz. But I still have no bass. The sub is being used with Klipsch Heresy speakers, so it may need a bit more gain than usual...
Options: I could set the sub trim in the Oppo to +10 and/or I could crank up the sub volume pot to full. This seems inadvisable, though, because if there is another problem that gets resolved, the sub may self-destruct.
The pilot on the sub lights up when I put it in "manual on" position, so I think the plate amp is OK.
What am I missing?

How are you connecting to the sub? If you se the LFE input the crossover setting on the sub is bypassed.
If you get no light in the auto setting the sub isn't getting any signal. Double check Oppo settings, and make sure you are playing a 5.1 SACD or other 5.1 content.
There won't be any output to the sub without that .1 channel unless you are routing through a pre-amp that can give you 5.1 with Dolby PLII.

Hi Mel - I must politely comment that I think (although I might be wrong) you are mistaken. My impression was that the Oppo BDP-105 is capable of internal bass management for stereo signals too.
I suspect that my issue may be be one of sensitivity. I'm running the Emotiva XPR-2 (a relatively high-gain amplifier) with a pair of Klipsch Heresy loudspeakers (about 10x more sensitive than "average").
When I go into the Oppo setup menu, put the sub at +10 dB and the satellites at -10 dB and THEN crank up the gain pot on the subwoofer all the way, I can get some sub output. Still not as much as I'd like, but enough to know that the sub is working.
The easier way to do this may be to run the Heresys full-range and cut in the sub (using the sub's crossover) below the speakers' roll-off frequency. That way, the Oppo need not do any bass management at all.

My impression of my new Toshiba PC:

You may well be right.
I have a BDP103, not a 105. I'm listening usually through the analog outputs for SACD... then straight through to UMC-200. I have loads of gain.
Same using HDMI. Since I'd be very surprised if the amp in the sub was sent out with little gain, I have to conclude (but not with certainty) that's its a setup issue somewhere...

Hi Melm - I think you're right, but darned if I know where. I've reviewed the manual (twice) and it seems to be set right. The down mix is set to "LT/RT" about which the Oppo manual says:
LT/RT – Left Total/Right Total. The center and surround channels are mixed into the two front channels according to the LT/RT matrix. A Dolby Pro Logic receiver will decode the two-channel audio into surround audio
If the last sentence is correct, then this may be the problem. There is no bass management decoding going on since the downstream receiver is expected to do the job?
If this is the case, then you ARE correct & the Oppo can NOT separate bass except for multi-channel signals. If that's true, then I'll have to run the satellites full-range & use the sub's crossover (until I add an XSP-1).
Other Oppo owners: What say you?

B'zilla. I think it's a settings issue - despite the whole sensitivity thing. The bass boost shouldn't be causing you to go "I think it's turned on". It should be deafening you especially at -10 db. That may be bleed through you're hearing and not what it's supposed to sound like. Is it set to 2.1? And everything small. Are you by any chance using a USB input. From oppo owners thread. Bass management will not work when using a USB input. "I got a reply from oppo on this issue: The Asynchronous USB DAC is done on the I2S bus, so it is not possible to apply any bass management in the player itself. Any bass management needs to be done externally to the player." www.avsforum.com/t/1439524/official-oppo-bdp-105-owners-thread/660
