Connectivity
INPUTS: 8 - HDMI V1.4b.
Video Capabilities 3GHz HDMI V1.4b - 8 inputs, 2 outputs. 4k Ultra HD, 3D, ARC, CEC support. ARC and CEC on main output.
Did something change again? My guess is that the HDMI 2.0 part was not ready.

Earlier today over half the other pics had shots of the XMC-1 in Gen 1 trim. My guess is that the site's not fully updated yet.

From the chipset data sheet: the ADV7625 support the reception and transmission of 3 GHz video formats up to 4k × 2k at 24 Hz/25 Hz/30 Hz
and
High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP 1.4)
And from hdmi.org: What’s new in HDMI 2.0? HDMI 2.0 significantly increases bandwidth to 18Gbps and includes the following advanced features: Resolutions up to 4K@50/60 (2160p), which is 4 times the clarity of 1080p/60 video resolution, for the ultimate video experience

It also says one output when it is going to have two. The site is definitely in a state of flux at the moment. It also says 4 optical and coax inputs, when the pictures clearly show three, and I think the site has been in that state for quite some time now.
It's been weird today, I've checked it a couple time in anticipation of an update to the page since this was supposed to be the release date. I saw the right column saying 8 inputs, but 1.4b, and old pics and the rest of the text was old. Now I see the new pics, the right column with 8 inputs and 1.4b, but some of the text is new.
Seems odd. They just recently announced that it would be 2.0, so perhaps whoever wrote the copy for the website has some outdated information. Seems strange that they would backtrack to 1.4b with future upgradability at this point.

Just keep refreshing until it says what you want.

The old HDMI card used just two of the ones from the UMC-200. This one is definitely new...perhaps it's a reliability thing - I for one do not want them to slam in an unproven HDMI card since HDMI is the most sensitive part of these new pre-pros. It still does 4K but by the time I get a 4K TV in 2016 or whatever, I'll probably need the upgraded card.

Surely not. Not while the announcement of HDMI 2.0 was only two weeks ago and is still live at the top of the board. They also wouldn't spring this disappointment by just putting it on the product page all of a sudden. This must just be a case of whomever is in charge of the website not having current information. Hard to believe that happened, given how visible that particular page is, but it seems to have.

The Analog Devices ADV7625 seems to be a brand new part. The data sheet was released in December '13.
I'd take reliability over hdmi 2.0 also. 4k is not even on my horizon.

Also not to be negative, but if they get HDMI 2.0 to work in 6 to 8 weeks I would be more than surprised. I would honestly be, quite shocked.

I have a need for HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 now, so its a pretty big deal. Not the end of the world if its back to 1.4, but like I said, that would be REALLY odd given the "big announcement" of HDMI 2.0 only a couple of weeks ago. Really. Just plain weird to do that. That would imply seriously flying by the seat of your pants.

I'm patiently awaiting a response from Emotiva before I jump to conclusions.

Yeah given how easy it would be for a representative to quickly post, "Don't worry, its still HDMI 2.0" , makes me think someone is instead writing up a long post about how it just wasn't possible. I also called but "all representatives were busy" and they took my name to call back.

Just keep refreshing until it says what you want. I just refreshed and it now has two HDMI outputs listed and the correct number of optical and coax digital inputs. As far as HDMI 2.0, the group who controls that doesn't want people using numbers anymore. They want people to talk about having HDMI with 4k, ARC, 3D, etc. Because to them you don't necessarily have to support every aspect of it for it to be compatible. It's rather odd. So it could be that the chips support most aspects of 2.0, but due to this ambiguity Emotiva would rather not advertise it at this time. At the moment their site says the following: Due to a lack of 4k input sources with the deeper color support HDMI 2.0 allows for it's probably best not to claim that until they can verify it. The important thing is 4k is there, and considering that's the latest/greatest on the market, that's what matters.
